Scam and ebay ignores it

I sold an item. This item (Macbook Pro) was shipped to 600 Markley Strut Port Reading, NJ to MEEST Express (logistics company delivering). When the return was initiated, I contacted MEEST Express and they said that the item was not returned but shipped to the customer in another country. The return label was registered and shipped from Texas via CCK and delivered in a mailbox (there is no way a MacBook will fit in a mailbox). I received a regular empty envelope. I contacted an eBay agent when this return raised my suspicions of fraud. And they told me not to worry and that the seller is protected from this fraud.

I provided ebay with the telephone number of the logistics company and they could see for themselves by asking whether the goods were returned, I even provided them with a photo of my mailbox so that ebay could understand that the MacBook would not fit into the mailbox. eBay sees by the track number where/to whom the goods were delivered and where the return was sent from. But they refuse me and say there is not enough evidence.
Even a 5 year old child can understand everything here.
ebay just don't want to refund me? Why do you have a seller protection policy then?

Case ID
5333938605
I hope that ebay will be able to correct their mistake. Anything can happen, maybe the case fell into the hands of an unprepared person

At the present time there are some technical issues with eBay and we are unable to see your sold item. You didn't provide much detail on how you got to this point. Are you in the U.S. ? Was your buyer international? The initial address you shipped to in N.J. is that of a freight forwarder, what is/was the buyers registered address or where did the FF send the package?

Did your buyer open some type of eBay claim: INR, NAD and how did you respond to that request? With a FF you are only responsible for the return label from the FF back to you the buyer has to handle returning the item to the FF.

I am not sure what you provided for "evidence" and eBay is NOT going to call the FF. You need to appeal this case and provide enough information to eBay to rule in your favor. Start by noting that the item was shipped to a FF and initially received then go from there.

@esocket

You are a victim of the "fake return" scam,  aka fake tracking return scam, cheap trinket return scam.  Your buyer used a freight forwarder.  Buyers that use freight forwarders relinquish their Money Back Guarantee protections.

Unfortunately, it is up to the seller victim to inform eBay of this situation.  Otherwise, they process it as any other domestic return.  This is best done BEFORE you have to send a return label, because the transaction will proceed as yours has, and now makes you a victim of the return fraud as well.

This is best accomplished by using one of the eBay social media portals.  Unlike the regular outsourced foreign call center reps you get in a call back or chat, these are US ebay employees, and are familiar with the scam.  They have the authority to override the bot driven decisions made.  Here is one.  Use the blue message button at the top of this page:

https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness

Let them know you are a victim of the fraudulent return scam with an international buyer that used a freight forwarder, with a brief  description.

Unfortunately, this is nothing new.  The latest twist is actually using the return label you provide, and altering the PDF file to reflect something else. Here are some other situations that may give you some more information as to the details of how this scam is used:

This is an eBay issue and their failure to recognize the delivery notification USPS posted to the tracking web site which shows the item delivered to the FF. From there it is impossible for you as the seller to know or track where the item was shipped to or how it was shipped unless the FF provided it.

I see where the return shipment originated out of Coppell TX did the return package have the buyers name on the return address by chance? Not sure what more eBay wants this is an obvious scam. Sorry this happened to you but this one is eBay dodging a bullet and avoiding having to cover the cost of the item. Sad they don't stand behind their policies.

That's right, fraud is immediately obvious here. But ebay shirks its policy. And they also lowered my seller rating. They punished me twice

Unfortunately, apart from the bot responses, I didn't receive any help. However, they've already spammed me with messages/calls about advertising assistance, so that I would give them even more money.
