Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

Still no option to report this. I type in search for "ADP-400FR power supply" and its flooded with duplicate listings slightly worded different and staggering prices. This is not the only item that I sell they do it with just an example. Thus some of my best selling items never get seen on search results cause you have to scroll past 20-30 duplicates! Even if I note down all the item numbers and user id's etc I still can't report them? Obviously Ebay doesn't police the listings or care cause this has been going on since I started in 2019.

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

I have seen the same listing 30+ times on 1 page.  Same photo.  Same price.  The sellers are in China. If you look carefully, sometimes, it will have a different seller name but the listing is exact including the same English grammar mistakes.  Ebay is well aware of this and they look the other way when it comes to these deceitful foreign sellers.

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

Each listing  has a "report this item" link about half way down on the right hand side.

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

It's a form of dropshipping. EBay is fine with dropshipping.

Those may all be the same seller, or they may be different people who use the same supplier.

Is this a one of a kind collectible? Or is it a mass manufactured item?

And how many of them has each seller sold lately? What is their feedback like?

Only for item numbers to be entered from same seller same account. Will not submit report entering listings from multiple accounts. I've tried and tried with no luck.

Seems like Ebay should have someone on the payroll (not me) to enforce the policies they have in place!

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

What makes you think they are the same sellers?

The only thing the same is that dozens of sellers are all dropshipping from the same source, using the same stock images from the same source and copying the descriptions.

What do you mean you've tried with no luck?

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

@reallynicestamps has probably hit the nail on the head.

There are many companies providing DIY kits for online sellers.

Pre-written listings, pricing and drop ship services.

On the one hand, your complaint is justified, but there are way too many offers of most of these items, and anything Ebay does is probably not going to make your listings sell, even at a lower price.

These products have been devalued by this activity.

It is likely that the same reasons you chose to offer these products, were the reasons the company recruiting these sellers to use their drop ship services chose them.

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

Mass manufactured part for the best selling gaming console.

Each account has sold a few.

Feedback varies.

They all ship from similar locations.

Prices are cents apart. Pictures and descriptions are moved around so highly doubt these are multiple sellers.

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

Unfortunately, Ebay sees reports from sellers like yourself who sell in the same category as just a disgruntled seller trying to get rid of the competition.

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

eBay encourages the use of its catalogue, available for sellers to copy. It once was a policy violation to copy another seller’s listing verbatim, or steal photos. But the policy changed a few years back with the advent of eBay’s catalogue of listings expansion.

Fast forward to now, eBay does not consider multiple accounts having the same listing info as a violation of the Duplicate Listing policy. As you noted, only individual sellers with duplicate listings can be reported.

But all is not lost. To compete with all those other listings, sellers would need to maximize their listings for better search result placement. Some next steps could be to develop/ensure their listings are 1) competitive in price, 2) optimized for Search engine usage (SEO), and 3) follow eBay’s best practices. There is also 4) its Promoted Listings program.

Likely the OP has undertaken such steps already, but for those who may not, see links below for more info. Good luck.

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

I have another suggestion.

Change the pictures for your similar items.

You are using eBay's option to remove whatever background was behind your items when you photographed them, right?
While that does look smooth and professional, something a little less professional and more personal/quirky could tell your buyers that you are NOT dropshipping and that you have the product in your hands ready to ship.

Perhaps use a triptych of light coloured foamboard (like kid's science fair projects) on a plain wooden desk top. Or even more casual, on the patio table with the dog running around in the distance.

You have 12 pictures. Use the casual one for your Gallery, and the more professional ones to make details of the item clearer.

Heck you could even include a picture of your shop, if you have one. But no flags. Those have been used too often by scammers.

The point is to remind the buyer that you are a US-based seller with the real thing in hand. You don't have to say so, you just have to indicate.

Re: Same seller multiple accounts with duplicate listings

I agree as I have seen it on social media Looked at any item and was pummeled by different retailers selling the exact same item. Same photos and descriptions but different companies.
