Is it just my store or is everyone else's sales tank? Just unbelievable slow, I had 25 sales a day during peek covid. Then it dropped to 5 to 10. Now I'm lucky to get 2/day

I am a new seller started 7/26 this year. Made top rated seller in 7 weeks. Had to wait until the 20th of this month to get the official TRS discount. I get the badge on the first of november. I am at about 160 sales so far.
It may be the category i sell in but its been good. Hope yours picks up and with the holidays fast approaching i think they will. best of luck to you.

Sales been declining slowly and steadily for a year now, but the decline accelerated in the past couple of months. Now we are down 50-60% in sales compared to previous years with way more items listed(!!).
The best you can do is to branch out, don't wait for miracles, they might never happen. We started to go to local markets, pop up shops, in order to make up the difference, and building our online presence elsewhere also. Been selling on eBay for over a decade, have a soft spot for the platform, but our business can not sustain this amount of loss in sales, so the alarms finally went off if you know what I mean..

Last 4 days ebay flipped the switch off on my store. Trickles. And for some reason today now I cant email or invoice a customer.
Great work shutting me down in 4th quarter Ebay. So flippin thankful for that.

Yes this is what I think is happening, but eBay accelerates this process with bad algorithms, glitchy updates and on...
If the algorithm prefers to show the cheaper items in the same category, plus the ones that are heavily advertised, then it forces sellers into a race to the bottom, and then those who can not cut into their profits anymore will leave and buyers will follow them, because the customers are not loyal to eBay, they just want the item they like.
And there is USPS with their non-existent tracking updates (which has gotten way worse ever since they switched to Ground Advantage), creating many frustrated buyers who will never come back...

If you are getting 2 per day - you are doing well - sadly!

I think sales have declined due to auctions on whatnot and sales going through FB

What has happened to the American Dream?

The competition is taking over and eBay can't keep up, that's all. For God's sake even Tiktok figured after a couple of years how to do their own shipping service (which is faster and cheaper than outdated USPS). No wonder why buyers looking for their goods somewhere else, meanwhile we have more and more desperate sellers on this already oversaturated platform.
Branch out, list on other platforms also, don't put all your eggs in the same basket!

Overall post pandemic has seen significant overall loss of market share of customers well documented. Revenue stays up because of promotional listings and high value purchases. Reality is less active users, more high end product and fees that sustain the website.

You have to keep up with the trends and do whatever necessary to keep customers loyal to your brand for the dream to come true on here.
