Sales down to nothing from January 1 2019

Just wondering if it is just me, or if other long-time sellers have noticed a complete drop through the floor of sales that started in the beginning of this month?

Have 230 vintage 45rpms on l. Have (1) bid and most no watchers. Problem cannot figure out.

I am stunt to find out that I'm not the only one. I see that seasoned sellers even those with a store are facing the same issue. I researched before placing any listing. I even use the same keyword on similar items sold. The results 'nothing'.

I also have searched for any of my items listed and I can't find any of sometimes on the last page, go figure. I see the same items I have listed sold for more money, worse condition, higher shipping charges, and yet they are sold and not mine.

Their strategy is to keep lowering the price. Sure should I bend over too. I have called (a waste of time dealing with Call Center in India, Phillipines, a waste of time.

They made a useless excuse that it doesn't relate on Planet Earth or at least in the US.

I can go for over 3 months and none of my listings sale. And yet, a couple of years ago I used to have a sale daily.

Also I find it very weird that any "Buy Now" listings will be listed as "until it sells". They won't let me list  for a 7, 10 days. What's up with this.

I also know that some frustrated sellers have created a second account. But I don't think that would help because I'm sure EB will cross reference and discover your other account.

I'm suspicious of this Forum because it might be monitored and all postings answered by EB and not by other users. Who know we might even get on the 'SH**T list' by being opinionated.

There is definitely a problem, my sales are down 30% this year (2019). Traffic is way way down. Now buyers don't want to pay sales tax on items, especially expensive items, and I don't blame them.  Ebay has lost it's luster, and it's scary. If ebay would stop tweeking everything, and beating down their sellers, and get their nose out from our businesses, that would help.

Sales were strongest in January, February chugged along - everything we were listing was going fast....

March 18th on?  The lights basically went out...As soon as this GTC mandate hit and we could no longer run 3 day Buy It now listings?  Our sales plummeted...Just as we predicted it would..

The only culprit here (or at least the worst one) is the GTC mandate...It's killing everyone big and small on this site...

The boards reflect this quite adequately at this point..

It's definitely not a mystery.  What people need to do though instead of trying to solve this "big mystery" of why sales have stopped/or slowed to a crawl? 

Is to recognize the 10,000 pound elephant in the room for what it is, Understand that the GTC change IS the problem here;  and get on the phone with ebay and demand that this be changed back..

Every day, flood them with as many calls as you can, before we all go collectively out of business here..

The culprit isn't the position of the moon today, it isn't some sudden unreported world wide recession happening in secret, it isn't the time of year, it's GTC...Period

The longer this goes on?  The more destruction it is going to cause, thats the bottom line

Our January, February and March sales were okay.  Much lower than 2018, but at least we made some sales.

This month, April -- today is April 14, 2019 -- we've made ZERO sales.  Absolutely nothing.

There are watchers on some of our listings, but none are buying.

Trying not to obsess or be overwhelmed by desperation on having NO SALES AT ALL this month so far . . .  but it's very difficult.

So what the heck is eBay trying to accomplish here by making more challenging to sellers? This has to make an impact on their revenue. I have removed most of my listings because of the stupid changes.

And please don't suggest to call them. A waste of time. Totally inept, uninformed, untrained people with a lot of APATHY. And yet ebay very happy to charge fees.

They are removing all the control from the sellers. Why would I let them renew my postings, designate the selling price on my items?

And for sure ALL of are being blacklisted for being opinionated. Big BROTHER IS WATCHING US

It sure is one big elephant. I have never seen it this slow and even the summer vacation months performed better than what has transpired over the last 30 days.

I'm not seeing the new items being posted in the same quantity I used to. Sellers and buyers are all abandoning this ship it seems

Seller FRAUD is out of hand & Ebay does nothing to remove these Sellers. I have been buying on Ebay since 98, no problems....until, this past Nov. 2018

And ever since , I buy items I Never Recieve or are Fakes,,,etc. about 40%

My sales are down so much.  For me this started when they changed it to where we couldn't set a time for Buy it Now but forced to do the til cancelled.

I agree.  I get these messages "maybe you should lower your price"  many times I already have.  Maybe you should lower your fees and quit forcing me to list my items indefinitely.  No reason for a buyer to get in a hurry to buy an item if there is no set time for it to end - especially with multiples of that item.   I've been with ebay for 20 years but I'm about ready to call it quits!  One other big gripe!  Iphone users are not able to request a combined total from sellers who offer it .  I have had so many pay the full price then ask me to refund them the overage.  Guess what when I do that ebay doesn't refund me the percentage they took on that overage!  Ridiculous!
