Granted I sell things that require people to have extra income but still, this has my mind completely boggled. I thought by now, my business would be flourishing and I would be expanding by leaps and bounds. Now I’m hemorrhaging faster and faster that each days passes. This business of mine I have poured every ounce of my being into and now watching it burn right before my eyes is so devastating. If business doesn’t get better by the end of the year, I will be throwing in the towel. I never ever thought I would say that.
I just posted this to the OP, but it is more appropriate for you:
"Sad to hear - Wish you better luck - On the upside, it doesn't look like you are the kind of seller who needs to make sales to pay your mortgage, though your certainly dont want to be wasting your time here either - I just pity the medium sized sellers who have many of their eggs in the ebay basket and didnt prepare for whats happening - I see some of them posting they have had to resort to Promoted Listings at 10% to 12% just to get near the sales they did have at one time, and then once they get a bit more comfortable another INEVITABLE SLOWDOWN comes along and they need to tack another 2% onto the already UTTERLY RIDICULOUS FEES to pay the bills - Talk about a race to the bottom here.."
I too was selling the numbers you are talking about, but as soon as PROMOTED LISTINGS came out back in 2018 I could see exactly what it would do to this site - Out of a combination of principle and business acumen, I didnt hesitate(which is my norm) and hedged my selling here utilizing several different avenues, including going traditional with a part-time supervisor job at UPS - I made close to 40K last year working less than 25 hrs a week, I have full coverage insurance(used to cost me almost $500 a month) - a wonderful 401K program, profit sharing, and 3 weeks paid, plus sick and option days. I'm still sourcing(had to just get a new storage unit recently), but my selling has been local and regional at comic cons, collectible fairs, etc etc - waiting to see how the online sales game pans out before I start back up - I may just start my own website - it would be worth it as I have multiple 7 figures of collectibles to sell... Glad I got out when I did - Jobs are gonna be scarce pretty soon once everyone who was squeaking out a meager living selling online needs to make a paycheck...

Selling about half of what I sold last year this time. 1 sale in 24 days this month. Reduced prices, flat rate shipping costs, free shipping offered.. EBay raises prices, we pay fees on taxes collected, etc. I am
Putting too much time in for making nothing!!!!

I think a lot of us feel that way. I sold one item today. Nail polish. Free shipping. It is NOT the economy. (I hear that here) it is summer, it is hot..I have not purchased anything. It will pickup. Last weekend was good.cannot figure it out, but don’t get discouraged.

Selling on ebay is an opportunity with the potential for high earnings
It is not a job having a weekly or monthly salary
Set aside some time to review how close you are to realizing your dream of significant financial reward for your time & effort.
Decide on what action would be best to undertake

It's quiet out there.
Too quiet.

It's been a terrible month! I was beginning to think I had somehow been black listed until I came on the board and saw so many going through the same thing. I've had several watchers and even sent out offers with no luck. Now when I send out an offer I feel like I'm sitting on a bank fishing and hoping something strikes. 🐠

Diversify across more platforms and venues that is what the buyers are doing. EBay used to account for about 80-90% of my sales. That percentage has dropped to under 20% and while my other platforms/venues are a little slower than normal it's not as big of a downturn as eBay has been for the last 6-12 months.

My sales are just fine! But, I sell useful stuff, not trinkets.

Maybe because you have no listings?

Maybe because you have no listings?
OP has 230 active listings but is located in the US and does not sell internationally. You are located/registered in Canada and cannot see the listings.

Credit cards are adjustable rate, as rates go up unnecessary purchases go down. Plus ebay wants everyone to pay for premium advertising if you don't say good by to your sales, be ready to pay 48% commission.

It's been a tough month for sure.

It always gets slow this time of year for clothing and accessories - can't speak for your other items as I only sell computer and sports stuff beyond that. You might want to review what *is* selling and concentrate on that (i.e., brands, styles, items, etc.). I use the time to relax.
