SPRING SELLER UPDATE has arrived

@partial*eclipsewrote:

The new "Starter Store" costs $7.95 per month for a month-to-month subscription and $4.95 per month for an annual subscription, for which you get 100 free fixed price listings.  Currently, non-stores get 50 free insertions per month and extras will be cents, so those 50 additional insertions would cost $17.50. So on listing fees alone, you'd save if you list more than about 70  items per month. Plus probably you'd get access to seller benefits like vacation settings and Markdown Manager.

I think the Starter Store is great-- it's a good compromise between the 50 free listings and a Basic Store, which is way too many listings for a lot of people who may just be trying to unload things from around the house.  It's long overdue, in my opinion.

Reply from a blue on the Spring Update discussion board states that all sellers will be able to add vintage, ooak, handcrafted to the eBay catalog.

It will be difficult to go into the "Seller Boot Camp" with a good attitude after seeing all this. Is there a place to cancel my participation?

Wow!!! This is going to be a real mess with all the variations of so many vintage and OOAK items. Even new items have tons of variations.

I will never do free returns. Especially not 30 day FREE returns.

That's insanity.

I don’t know if this has to do with all the upcoming changes but the latest eBay bucks promotion is ONLY valid on items sold by the Dell Store. Really? It’s bad enough most coupons are only good on certain items sold by certain sellers, now they are doing the same with eBay bucks promotions? This isn’t good for sellers IMO. Unless you know....you’re a special seller like Dell!

Thanks for giving me a good laugh in the midst of these changes.  Picturing OOAK in the catalog!

I should have typed TRSP.

I'm assuming we can still be TRS without offering free returns and retain the meager shipping discount?

Sure. This is just a tweak on the current TR-Plus requirements which require 30-day returns.  The only change is that those returns must now be FREE (to the buyer).  TRS pay the Commercial Plus rate for Priority Mal for all labels, even for listings that aren't TR-Plus, and that doesn't seem to be changing. You wno't be losing that loverly 3% savings on Priority Mail.

This one jumped out at me (underline is mine):

New seller metrics

When you sell an item and the buyer notifies you that they have not received their item, or that it was not as described, your seller performance standard rating may be affected if you do not resolve the buyer request in a timely manner. Starting in June 2018, we will provide you with additional visibility into the status of your buyers’ after-sale requests in Seller Hub, which will help you identify any listings that aren’t meeting buyer expectations. The metrics will also show how often you receive these requests compared to sellers of similar items and circumstances. Low rates of after-sale requests can help improve your listings visibility.

----------------

Ergo, high rates of after-sale requests are going to sink your listings.

It starts out talking about INRs and SNADs and then segues into "buyers' after-sale requests."   What exactly is a "buyer's after sale request?"   Is there going to be a distinction between a buyer messaging to say, "I love this widget, can't wait to use it but how do I turn it on?" and "I didn't get my widget in 36 hours, you bum."

In other words, all buyer communication/cases opened/whatever now lumped into one Seller Hub place that will make us, you know, be better sellers because, you know, we asked for it.

As usual, very vague.

I didn't know there was a Spring Seller Update board; I'll look at that during my lunch break.  I've been working this morning and I'm going to work on a few things verrrrrrry differently now.  I needed this Update to give me a nudge in certain directions.

Anyone else seeing Glitch Galore Nightmare ?

Thoughts? Well when they took away half of the TRS+ discount I listed way less TRS+ listings. Thirty day free returns just killed the rest of them.

I am wondering the same thing. The TRSP isn't worth anything anymore, not going to lose money to try and maintain.

Well, I have always been TRS and it is VERY questionable how much visibility I have on any given day.

That carrot is gonna have to be A LOT more certain because from my vantage point it could be another stick.

Free returns? LOL, I recently had a return. The buyer shipped me the completely WRONG ITEM. Not to scam me but because she was returning MULTIPLE items to different sellers and got the labels mixed up.

Oh, yeah, by all means, offer people like that free returns on your dime.

I don't currently do not use Seller Hub, I do not like it. Will that now be a requirement?
