Did you know that eBay allows users to leave retaliatory negative feedback as revenge? Even though the negative feedback isn’t an authentic sharing of the users actual experience and just a spiteful attack on your store? Should that be allowed?
I bought a shirt from some user and it was described as new but it came without tags and covered in pet hair so I left negative feedback that said simply “not as described.”
This user then, in what to me seems like borderline stalker behavior, bought the cheapest item I had available in my store just so they could leave negative feedback that said simply “not as described.”
They verbatim left the same exact feedback for me as I left for them, the difference though is that my product arrived to them exactly as described.
I asked eBay to remove the feedback and even though this user verbatim copied my feedback, and didn’t upload any photos that showed what they got wasn’t as described, and informed that it was revenge feedback and not the sharing of an authentic experience eBay did not remove the feedback.
How do you feel about that being acceptable behavior by user in the eyes of eBay? I’d like to hear from the people about this.

Not once have I ever left bad feedback to a fellow seller , if I have an issue with an item I contact the seller first and so far they have all fixed the problem either with a refund or a return ...I always give the fellow seller a chance first because that's what you should do, and then there is no hassle or drama back and forth.

It's possible that the feedback was not deemed a clear violation of the feedback policy or was not investigated thoroughly.

Which of the negative feedbacks you left for other sellers are you referring to?
You have left negative feedbacks for 13 sellers in a row, and twelve of them had the same comment "not as described". That doesn't seem very plausible, or likely, or appropriate.
The item you left negative feedback for, to that seller, was not a shirt, by the way. And it was pre-owned, not new. Maybe one of the other 13 was for a shirt.

Glad to hear that your experience with sellers has all worked out to be positive.
Not all of us can say the same. And, believe me, once you have tried to work out a NAD situation with a seller, and have had a bad experience, from then on, you simply open the appropriate case without contacting the seller first.
Incidentally, eBay doesn't require that a buyer contact the seller before opening a case.

Just curious here: With all of those "not as described feedback you have left for sellers, did you reach out to the seller first?
And did you open item not as described cases in each of those situations?

After all the negatives you've left looks like one of them decided to finally give you a taste of your own medicine.

Perhaps they just weren't happy with the item. That can also be a reason for negative feedback. I don't think it's revenge. Who has the money to just purchase something only to leave a carpy comment for the seller in this day and age? I think you're overthinking it, IMO.

It can be risky to buy and sell on the same account, as your experience shows. In the future, to protect your selling account, open a second ID for use with buying, or use guest checkout.
Retaliation feedback of course is not allowed. Following is a link to the Abusive Buyer policy. In it is a link to report the buyer. The other link is to the Feedback Misuse policy. Always report the misbehavior first, then attempt feedback removal. Cite the policy that is being violated when dealing eith eBay. It may take more than one try to get it removed.

Keep in mind that eBay may do nothing. They review each account’s history before any action is taken. Your many negatives left could work against you in this case if eBay considers them to be excessive or overly punitive. It could erode your case.
Good luck and hope you are able to fix this.

Seriously? With all the negative FB you've left for sellers, your post has zero credibility.

this is why I have a separate buying and selling id
if I ever need to leave negative feedback, I don't fear this type of retaliation
I also use only my buying id for these forums too just in case someone takes offense to something I've posted

Looks like your favorite thing to do is leave negative feedback, rather than open a return.
Why not just return the many items you left negatives for and get a refund and be done with it? Some of those sellers seemed to have wondered the same thing

Not retaliation, more a statement of fact.

I know but common courtesy is something people don't do anymore, so many ppl are so angry with the world that they rather go straight to feedback with a negative comment...very sad

No, it happens. this is why it's good practice to block any sellers you have issues with. Retaliatory feedback happens. We just had another thread about this a few days ago from a different OP.
