Okay this is getting ridiculous. Am I the only one with this issue?
It's only for random items, but some stuff I've sold recently absolutely will not let me manually add tracking numbers (I ship through Shipstation), which is very important to me as a Top Rated Seller. When I add a tracking number, it 'looks' like it went through and accepted, but when it returns me to the Ebay homepage and re-check the transaction details, there is no tracking info. The item is just marked as shipped.
The craziest part is that this only happens with random items. But has never happened before, at least not until the last month or so. No rhyme or reason.
No matter what I do I cannot get the tracking info to save. I've tried different browsers, disabling adblock software...you name it. I only recently found out after the fact since I checked my TRS status for this upcoming evaluation period and it shows I only had 75% of tracking uploaded! But come to find out many of my items didn't have the tracking number saved after I entered them. And all but one of those items have already been long delivered to the customers already according to tracking!
This is seriously ridiculous, and I have no way to fix it. Anyone else?

Ugh. Has anyone found a fix? I've recently been downgraded from Top Rated seller because of this issue with shipstation and ebay tracking numbers not appearing, nor being able to manually add afterwards.

UPDATE: The tracking numbers that are not saving to orders will also not work in an "Item not received" case. A buyer opened a INR case, we tried to add the tracking to the case and the form says invalid tracking information. The USPS website brings the tracking up just fine and shows delivered. Not only are we losing our Top Rated Status but eBay will potentially be refunding orders since the system doesn't even allow us to prove it's been shipped and delivered!

Happened to me this afternoon.
I use Pirateship for postage and normally when buyers purchase multiple items without adding them to their cart first, they show up as individual transactions, not multiple items in one transaction.
So I combine everything into one shipment and prepare label for item #1 and then add tracking (same number multiple times) back on eBay's site. Never had an issue with do it that way until today.
Like many others, I click "add tracking" and paste in the number and click on carrier and it fills in automatically "USPS". Click "save" and with no error messages, takes me back to "awaiting shipment" and no tracking info was saved.
Tried other browsers, same result. I at least marked it "shipped" and sent the buyer a message and added a "note" to the transaction.

Unfortunately, it's still happening here since December 2020. Not sure of the fix.

We haven't had eBay reject a USPS tracking # since 3/3 so maybe they have finally fixed their site? Doesn't resolve all of the ones that were missing tracking prior but seems like at this point their system is done rejecting the recycled USPS tracking #s. eBay support allowed us to send them an excel file of affected orders last week for which they agreed to try to have defects removed, but we haven't heard back on that yet.

ISSUE: USPS recycles old tracking numbers, and if that number has been on eBay before, eBay will not allow it to be reused. the errors are reused tracking numbers
Shipstation uses STAMPS.com to get postage
if you call stamps.com, they can issue you a MID so that your company will not use recycled tracking numbers.
Once you have unused tracking numbers, you should be golden

I don't know, I tried it, and we will see what happens
but they seemed to be aware of the issue......

The same happened to me! I have an Ebay account on Ebay.com but I sold my item on Ebay.de (German website). So, I was trying to add the tracking number on Ebay.com and it wasn't storing it. I just got the idea to do this step in Ebay.de and it worked! So the conclusion is, you should add the tracking number on the Ebay website you listed your item not on the website where you are registered. Hope it helps!

pargran3: Yes, it will no longer let you used the same tracking number for 2 transactions, like when you try to combine shipping for a customer.
There is a way to do it. Check the boxes of the transactions you want to combine then go to the menu on top and look for "combine" or something like that. You'll figure it out. I did.

Oddly enough, I have sent messages to all my buyers where an item is not showing the tracking and they all have visibility on their end.
When I click "Add Tracking" it already has the tracking and UPS entered. Just hitting save brings me back with no action.

It's not a fix, but I seem to have found a reliable workaround.
Our team seems to be in basically the same situation as most in this discussion have described.
After a few failed attempts to save the tracking details, I've had success with this process:
This workaround only seems to work if done before the tracking events show the package has been delivered (which eBay is aware of... because the tracking number was added all along), after which the tracking number can no longer be deleted.
It's a terrible, tedious process if you have many orders, but hope it helps some folks hang on to their Top Rated status until the bug's fixed.

It's still not working!!! I have 4 items, can't add any of it. I had to contact the buyers directly! Also, the eBay messaging system is screwed up too for both Edge and Chrome, can't type in the reply box, but works in Firefox, Vivaldi, Brave and Iridium browsers.
