I have notice the implementation of what ebay is calling automated feedback...I was wondering why feedback numbers were piling up faster than normal and stumbled across the reason...This has to be one of the best things in awhile...the only catch I noticed was the statement "Transaction Completed & Delivered on time" it is the delivered on time where I have an issue, as ebay, nor the seller has any control as to whether it was delivered on time or not or even an accurate delivery time quote to buyers...that feedback("Delivered on time") belongs to the carriers at how well they do THEIR job and should not reflect on the seller or if the automated feedback is applied or not because of it...other than that GOOD JOB!
There is a thought how about creating a carrier feedback system to judge how well a carrier does their part of the job, and let the heat be directed to where it belongs...a Carrier feedback system performance would help a seller at making the best choice in how his parcel is handled once in the carriers hands, and should be reported to that carrier monthly...maybe they will notice and realize bad performance will only push sellers to their competitors...

I like the change too. Especially when come next month they change how they handle requests to have negative removed. We may need those extra feedback that we weren't getting before.
We’re also improving how mixed feedback affects your profile. Starting this October, when you ask us to remove feedback and a buyer’s comment contains both removable and non-removable content, we’ll ask them to edit the removable part.
If the buyer revises it, we’ll publish their feedback. If they don’t, the feedback won’t appear on your profile at all. We’ll notify you whenever we ask a buyer to revise their comment.

It seems to have been received by sellers with mixed reviews. I see what you mean about that generic statement. It seems delivered on time isn't all on the seller, so maybe they should have stated shipped on time instead.

@quicksilverdiecast
You have 99.9% feedback rating. That's awesome!
Won't be long before your competition has 99.9% too.

I like the carrier feedback proposal, Good Idea!

You don't need eBay to give you each carriers on time delivery metrics. The information is easily available by Googling it.
My experience has been Fedex ground is usually quicker on longer distances.

There are quite a number of threads about this - views are pretty varied. IMHO, it's no big deal, but not everyone agrees - worth reading the chat.

Hmm, I'm not sure where you got that quote, but on your feedback page the comment is actually:
And it may seem like a distinction without difference, but your quote would definitely indicate that delivery date is a factor ..... whereas the real one is more of a slippery beast. Another member and I were just discussing the last part there, how it says "tracked and on time". If it just said "tracked on time" that would obviously mean the seller adhered to their handling time, end of story. But that "and" makes it impossible to tell, does it mean "The seller gave tracking and did so on time" or "The seller gave tracking and delivery was on time" ????

I think what the OP meant was just that if buyers had a prompt to rate the carrier as part of their feedback for the transaction, it might at least make them stop and think about whether the seller was to blame for a long wait.

Are they though? Or is just the same handful who are "anti" that show up to each thread and make the same prophecies about it?

Yes - someone even started a thread about it on the buyer's board, and mostly who showed up? Sellers with the same arguments! I'm not sure how many buyers even bothered to post. But even they don't agree on why it's so terrible (or good), so the chat is worth reading if one is interested.
As in every single innovation (I use that term loosely), there are some who manage to come up with the strangest reasons why it's a bad idea, verging on the paranoiac, along with people who simply have understandable reservations. The Overton Window on that shifts depending on one's own point of view, I guess.
ETA: Posting the thread on the buyers board was a good idea, no problem with that. I was just hoping I'd hear some buyers POV about it, and there didn't seem to be much.

I started a thread in the Buyers board within a few days after the autos started, to find out just one specific detail from any buyers with purchases in the right time frame.
It went about as well as you'd expect. Nothing but rippin' hellcats from the get go. I got so p.o.'d I started just saying stuff like "Too bad, it's happening whether you like it or not!" and such. 🤣 It was like the forum version of a SNL skit. Here, if you want a good laugh: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Buying/Attn-BUYERS-if-you-had-something-delivered-in-the-last-week-of/...
The more I think about it, the buyer's board is probably not where to get input from buyers anyway. I think for the most part they just go there to make posts about a current transaction or maybe an opinion, but they don't read posts started by others. Of course a lot of buyers are also sellers, so it's basically impossible to sequester buyer-only input anyway.
