Problems Posting New Listings with MAC

Several months ago I purchased a new IMAC.  At that time, I started experiencing problems with posting new listings.  I copy text from a MS Word document and past the text in the eBay listing.  Regardless of the length of the text in my descprition of the item to be sold, I receive an error message stating that the length of my text exceeded the maximum permitted.  I contacted eBay and they suggested that I use Windows and Google Chrome for my listings.  I'm certain that I'm not the only person using MAC OS and Safari.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks!

Dennis

I think the problem is using Word to compose.  Supposedly, it adds alot of html.  Recommendations are to use note pad.........you try one and see if it works any better.

You might still be able to use Word but Save As either .txt or perhaps .rtf format.

Saving as a .doc or .docx will give you a file filled with a ton of garbage coding, saving as a .htm/.html absolutely will add a a megaton of html tags.
