Ebay is Guaranteeing USPS delivery dates that USPS says are already past guarantee delivery date

Why does ebay show buyers false delivery times for USPS deliveries?

This effects millions of people , buyers and sellers who use USPS.

Check your auctions sellers and if you are a buyer please be nice to sellers as they can not control what ebay does.

I included an example of an auction today 12/20 with delivery date of 12/23 to compare with USPS web page saying all first class needed to be shipped 12/19 for Christmas delivery.

eBay isn't guaranteeing the delivery date unless you are enrolled in the guaranteed delivery program. But yes it appears their estimates are overally optomistic and they did not give any leeway for holiday delays

You're seeing delivery time to YOUR zip code.

This is what I see for that particular item. I'm in Mississippi.

Change your zip to a random one far from you and you can see the difference yourself. (remember to change it back when you're done!)

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

It's because you are looking at your own auction. I am seeing the 27th for guaranteed delivery.

That said, I've had multiple "guaranteed delivery" packages lately, and they are 100% for missing the mark now.

Of course, eBay will promise buyers anything to get them to buy, stepping aside and making it the seller's problem when the buyer is upset because they didn't get what they were "guaranteed".

eBay may as well "guarantee" that it'll be sunny and 75 tomorrow.

Chaos is NOT an "industry standard".

ebay is looking at YOUR ZIP code...delivery to me in Texas shows the 27th.

Still, it's dicey for a 2 day delivery via 1st Class to your area if you ship tomorrow.

"Guarantee" on ebay is a red-headed stepchild.

Much depends on distance. First Class Mail sent today (Dec. 20) from New York to somewhere in Connecticut probably will arrive by Friday or Saturday. The same package dispatched from San Francisco probably won't arrive until after Christmas.

Right now, I have a First Class package "in transit as of 12:05 p.m. PST on December 20" from Seattle to a small town in NC. I mailed it on Monday afternoon, December 18, and delivery is scheduled for Friday, December 22, by 8 p.m. EST. That's normal at any time of year -- and fine with me and my buyer.

The original eBay estimate was December 27. OK . . . I cheated just a bit. I added ""Standard shipping" as the lowest-priced option for a 3 oz. bubble mailer. But I left intact the FCPS and Priority Mail choices for "boxed" at 6 oz. In eBay-speak, "Standard shipping" includes UPS Ground and FedEx Ground/Home, both much slower surface options than FCPS, which travels by air.

I understand that and before posting plugged in 3 diffent zip codes for around the USA they all showed delivery on or before 12/23.

Reguardless of it being my zip code or others around the country USPS has already stated that all first class mail must be posted before or on 12/19 for delivery before christmas and the information I posted was on 12/20

There has to be an ebay "team" working on this...should be resolved by early January.

Of what year?

And to the OP - that's not an auction listing.
