Good morning.
So here's what's up;
On the 8th of May (Monday) a purchase was made, I was out with food poisoning on the 9th (Tuesday) and came back yesterday, where I processed the order and purchased a shipping label, and then received an email from PayPal stating that the purchase was claimed to be unauthorized, I have not shipped it yet.
The email address that was given to me in the email from paypal was vastly different from the one that was used to make the purchase, and the item would have been shipped to a logistics company in Delaware, and the name attached to the purchase was a business in Bangladesh.
I'm not jumping to any conclusions but there's a lot of red flags here, for me at least.
Advice?

Seems to be something going around..........not the belly bug.
More than one post about unauthorized Paypal payment claims, usually posted AFTER an item has been confirmed as shipped! Thankfully, you were paying homage to the porcelain gods, and weren't able to rush out and get your item in the mail.............to meet that gurantee delivery.😉
No address match, no ship. Ever, imho. Sit tight until funds limbo is decided.
Hope you're feeling better.

Call eBay and see if they will cancel the order for you.

There have been instances of overseas "buyers" using stolen credit card numbers to make purchases and having them sent to a freight forwarder. Usually by the time the true credit card owner notices the charge, the item is on its way overseas. Not saying this is the case here ::eyeroll:: but it is a distinct possibility.

I am feeling much better, thank you, and yeah I got very lucky in that regard, while I could have been able to afford an intercept it still would have been money I wouldn't have had to.
The PayPal email said to give them up to a week to review it, I will wait till tomorrow (since I don't work weekends) and if nothing comes up I will call eBay and have them deal with it, but for the time being I'm going to let it process as normal just in-case there was some mixup and it actually wasn't an unauthorized purchase.
I agree, very much possible. That's why I'm biding my time to find out what's up, and figured I'd ask here in case anyone had any advice for me other than what I was already implementing.
By the way, good to see you again, I haven't seen you in a few weeks, figured you were on vacation or something.

Heh, that reminds me of when I crushed my ankle last year and the Doctor said he was sending me on a "poor mans vacation".
Though considering the constant pain and the inability to walk I sure didn't feel like I was on vacation.
Anyhoo, I called eBay CS and was told that because there is a current PayPal dispute that I will receive no defect (though I'm having some doubts about that) and that if I do get a defect it can be removed since I was refusing to ship on the grounds of a PayPal dispute being opened for unauthorized payment.
So we shall see.

"Sit tight"
Hopefully, out of all this, you find this most useful. For next time. Lots of wisdom in those two words!

You won't get a defect for not shipping in one day, and if the OP had 1 day handling, it wouldn't be a defect anyway - it would only go against your tracking upload %.

Too many defects get you restricted/suspended. Too many late shipments(past your handling time) only gets you a loss of TRS.
Two entirely different things.

I've been qualified for TRS since November and haven't even touched it because I can't accomodate the requirements.
If I lose that qualification over a hacked paypal account... that doesn't really bother me, but what seller doesn't enjoy that nice little 100% that shows they are doing their job right?
Either way, while I have my doubts I will go ahead and trust CS on this one in the regards to any negative effects being removed because of the paypal dispute.

Twist it any way you want to, but late shipping is going to become a major factor to eBay with their Guaranteed Shipping program, so you can call it what you want to, it is still a mark against the sellers record.
