So annoying. Again and again after every third search. This is how they pester us for using the Chrome Browser instead of Firefox 115 which no longer works adequately since 10-13-25.

I use Edge on my PC and Safari on iPad and do not get those captcha things.

Better half uses Chrome and doesn't have the problem............ are you still using Windows 7?

I use chrome 100% of the time and never see that

Likewise. I am using Chrome on an HP Windows 10 box; no issues. (In fact, now that I think about it, I have three different Windows 10 boxes, all HP, a laptop and two desktops, and all let me log in to my account with no extra challenges to complete.)
@pf9000 : Do you have the latest Chrome updates? What operating system and version are you using?

I do not have the latest Chrome update because it would mean buying a new computer, exclusively for eBay. I don't have all these browser glitches with other web sites. They should test their software on older operating systems to make sure they work as intended.

I am not going to throw away my computer every few years just for eBay. Of course I'm running Win-7.

Whoa, I just realized I haven't had to do one of those annoying verifications in ages, and it used to be all the time like you're describing. Ironically it must have been when I switched from Chrome to Firefox, and ironic-er still, I had to do that because my old (Mac) computer couldn't update enough for the latest version of Chrome. Firefox seems to work just fine for me.

I thought this whole discussion sounded awfully familiar:

Have you upgraded your old Windows 7 box yet? Can you at least get it up to Windows 10?

It’s more fun to just keep posting about all the issues that result in not doing so.

It's outdated. Get with the times. You are starting to experience what happens when you have outdated programs.

Oh, geez...it does work, but without all the updated security patches this is how ebay has to keep verifying you because your Win7 isnt communicating with 2025.
For the record, on eBay, I use a Chromebook, a cheap one, too. I'l buy 3-4 when on sale for like $129. Black Friday is a great time. I bought 5 Samsung for $99/each in 2022. When I drop one, break one, I just pull a new one out and enter my Gmail and everything is ready to go, no loading no nothing. I open my lid and Im on my seller hub. Best device for me for any browsing on the web

Windows 7 no longer gets security updates.
Others have suggested buying a new PC once per decade. While that is a perfectly reasonable assertion, I will posit that using a 15-20 year old PC to sell on ebay is fine - just install Linux Mint instead.

To add to all of this. I run Win11 and Chrome (usually) and when I have my VPN on I get these. I also have Brave, Edge and Firefox. When I get around to it I'll see if these are affected as well but not a big deal to me.
I routinely dump cookies as well. I believe if the site doesn't recognize your location this happens.
I may be wrong but I always run my VPN and see these. I'm pretty quick with a mouse so a minor inconvienence to me.............................
