Periodic Performance Review!!

So i get through my 90 day and 25 sales which i thought this would have been a good enough period of time to prove im not scamming people or whatever its supposed to prove, obviously nothing. then i start getting payouts but it seems they only want to payout on friday so i have to wait till tuesday before the money is in my account. Its  damaging my business because i need the funds from my sales to fund my business. I cant believe they are still holding my money. This is the worst feeling ever. I would like to make my own way in this world and i make more money on ebay then any 9-5, but my future on ebay as a seller is looking grim. I cant keep waiting and waiting and waiting on deposits. I cant grow as a business due to these holds and then the woman on the phone says it will be five days before its lifted then im going to have to wait another 2 business days before my deposit hits. im hiring a lawyer and suing these **bleep**s.

Re: Periodic Performance Review!!

I am sorry to sound harsh, but no one can start a business with no capital for start up.

You can choose daily payouts, you can use pending funds to pay for shipping.

As to suing, let us know how that works out for you

Re: Periodic Performance Review!!

@me944866  ebay sets limits for new sellers, not only to weed out scammers, but to also make sure new sellers don't get taken advantage of due to lack of experience. As already suggested, go to your account settings and change your payouts to Daily. All selling platforms have their own rules and you agree to them when you create an account. I know it's boring to read all the legal terms of service, but you really should so you're not surprised by issues like this. Good Luck!

Re: Periodic Performance Review!!

You predominantly sold lower cost items for most of your early sales, then sold about $500 in 2 items in the last wk or so, so I imagine that's the reason for holds.  Ebay isn't "quick" returns.....you have to slowly build it up and put up with the delays in payouts.  If you can't put up with that, probably best to sell elsewhere.

Then I guess you have no choice but to set your money on fire by trying to sue them. Good luck.

That's the way the program works.

It takes a couple days to process the payments, then a couple days (depending on your bank) to be sent to your checking account.

Have a great day.

Re: Periodic Performance Review!!

You are a new-er Seller.

What happens if a Buyer has an issue with one of your higher dollar sales?  How will you have the money to reimburse them, if something goes awry?

Your responsibility as a Seller does not end when you "ship" the item.

E-Bay is not likely for you if you need the cash, really before you even sell the item.

Perhaps a PT job to help you supplement your e-Bay business as you build it?

Good luck, be safe!

Re: Periodic Performance Review!!

So i get through my 90 day and 25 sales which i thought this would have been a good enough period of time to prove im not scamming people

eBay bases their evalutions on eBay's criteria, not what "you would have thought".

it seems they only want to payout on friday

Hundreds of people have complained on this board about Managed Payments but I think you are the first to suggest that they only pay out on Fridays.

i have to wait till tuesday before the money is in my account. Its  damaging my business because i need the funds from my sales to fund my business

If waiting a week for your money is damaging yuour business, IMHO you have a risky business model. And not just from eBay holds - because a week without sales would probably do the same damage.

im hiring a lawyer and suing

Pehaps of the hundreds who have come here and made that claim, you will be the first to actually go through with it. But my guess is that if you consult with a lawyer he will simply point out the following ...

they lie. thats all there is to it.

Are they lying, or are you just intepreting the policy selectively?

The eBay hold policy says this:

"Performance holds: We may hold your payouts if we identify unusual activity associated with your account, such as increased customer claims, a sudden change in your selling activity, late deliveries, or negative buyer feedback"

and this :

"Transaction holds: We may also place a payment on hold if we need to review the details of a transaction. Category, price, and seller standing can all contribute to this decision. Transaction holds are usually maintained for a maximum of 30 days"

Re: Periodic Performance Review!!

So you were able to make it 90 days with 25 sales and no payout but now you can't wait 5-7 days to get paid?  If you made it 3 months, I find it hard to believe that a 7 day wait for money is going to stop your business from growing.  If it does, you need to think hard about your business model.

As for suing eBay, good luck.  Let us know how that works out for you.  If you actually find a lawyer to takes your case, fire him/her because they obviously didn't take the time to actually read the seller agreement you signed to sell here.  Ask them if they know what the word "arbitration" means.

Re: Periodic Performance Review!!

@me944866

rather foolish to attempt to sue a company for doing the things that you have agreed to when accepting the UA.

Hang in there, it will get better.

With "daily" (only those funds that have processed) payouts, other than the "out of the ordinary" sales (high $) monies will start to flow on a regular basis. eBay, and MP is doable.

Weekly payouts are on Tuesdays. Those payouts are for any monies that have processed by Monday.
