Its finally over. Im sick to death of being treated like garbage when I ship SAME DAY on items I have 1 business day handling time on. Tracking is uploaded and updated on time by USPS. But that doesn't matter to buyers here. They want full refunds and open cases against me almost weekly when they can see I did everything right. Its selfish and entitled. The last buyer that did this did a chargeback on their payment method outside of ebay because the (economy shipping) package was 4 DAYS LATE? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? If the tracking shows no updates, then fine I get it, it looks like Im sitting on the package. But Im complaining about the people who can clearly see its USPS that caused the delay mid way through the journey, and they just dont care. They want to steal from you. Im done. Congratulations on chasing off another seller that cares. I destroyed what was left of my inventory and its in the trash. Its not worth the headache and actually losing money in full refunds plus the cost of shipping because people are impatient. I wont be reading replies because I dont care. With Covid and weather, Ebay should 100% not allow people to open cases because a package is late when the seller shipped on time with tracking updated.
I spent a full times job worth of time last year selling my personal game collection that I bought over the years. I worked hard and shipped about 2000 items carefully and every single day. After all the fees, shipping, taxes, and people treating me like garbage, I think it was a waste of time and energy. Ebay enables this behavior by allowing it. And the most insulting thing is that ebay reaches into your pockets and takes the funds out immediately. Its not right. Bye for good. To my impatient buyers, go catch covid and meet up with grandma. That is all

Many sellers have set their handling time to a longer period in order to have a buffer against slow shipping. They still ship quickly, but it gives extra time for the package to arrive.

Sorry for the problems.........but wonder how many "bad" ones versus "good" ones. The dsrs on your feedback don't seem indicate alot of problems.....
But I think do think that we, relatively, see alot more complaints about buyers in your categories than others....
It is hard to let complaints slide off your back when they aren't deserved.......but as any brick/mortar business owner will tell you.........it's all part of selling.

Sorry to hear about your situation. The reselling biz isn't for everyone. Hope you find something better suited to your strengths.

I see what you have sold and I must say that you have mastered the art of selling the last 3 months.
many sellers woud be envious...its a great track record
I wish good sellers would stick around but its hard to sell and always feel good about how things are going
impatient customers can really try my patience.....trackig gets skipped anfd they think you did not ship.
its a no win situation when a buyer starts to complain
you have to take take the bad with sales however they are..........good or bad
in your case they look nice..I woud try to take an approach that causes less stress and let more bad stuff just roll off your back
that is why I have 30 day free returns..it gives me real peace of mind.....it does not cause me stress
good luck

Economy shipping is not the way to go with today's USPS. That is just asking for problems. Anything that weighs over a pound can be shipped UPS Ground for the same price or a dollar or two more as Priority USPS. Use UPS Ground if you have an item that you do not want to take a chance on losing because of a late delivery. In today's world, shipping, using the correct carrier and service they offer, is a huge deal.

To solve this issue...I have been Contacting Every Buyer and Tracking their Packages along the way so that
they Know they will take Longer Than Expected to Arrive...via the USPS...I also Say it in my Description..
that there are Shipping Delays...so they do NOT Expect Prompt Deliveries..and do NOT ask for a Refund when packages take Longer to Arrive than they Should.

Striving for perfection in life is unrealistic. The last time we saw perfection was in 1972. It really doesn't matter if you have two bad apples in the barrel of customers. We are all under stress these days. Maybe all you need is a vacation or call it a break from selling. You might become an occasional seller on some site. It's ok to vent. I see success on ebay as getting rid of stuff that arrived after three relatives died in 2017. The pandemic was just the cherry on top.

After reading your post and having similar feelings, I would like to comment.
I agree, the platform definitely takes advantage of certain situations to protect and or control itself "the platform". More recently I am noticing two narratives being voiced with almost opposite action. I will give an example - recently I shipped an item via UPS overnight guaranteed. What I learned is even though I purchased guaranteed shipping, they don't guarantee it. What's the point of this? The buyer didn't get what they needed and refused to pay for guaranteed overnight when they received it 4 days later. UPS later stated they offer guaranteed overnight but we don't guarantee it? So you offer but don't obligate and if you don't obligate you won't refund? That is correct - no refunds. But the small business merchants end up eating the bill. This is due to Covid-19... right... For the big business we need to be accepting of the rules, but they only apply to the "big business".
They push narratives of tolerance and patients for covid-19 when it protects the larger organizations, the small businesses are really the ones getting crushed and there is no tolerance, patients or grace to be had.
When you look through the terms and conditions for ecommerce platforms, payment gateways, and shipping companies you will see that the entire system is designed to "use" the sellers to build their platform and ultimately big profits. While this is obvious and makes sense, what's missing is when the users who build these platforms end up becoming obsolete and or worthless to the platform. The ultimate goals of these platforms is to dethrone the small business and take over control. They know that the customer's awareness is the value. The transaction is the drug and once they are hooked, you did your part as a seller. Now they can maintain the relationship and they no longer need you to do it - you just get used up.
It's frustrating - but it's eBays platform. They can do what they want. But I agree with you - is it worth it all the brain damage and suffering to build a business on their platform? They take 20% off the top and you take on all the risk. Set up insurance and attach legal protections within the bound of their T&Cs and you will succeed ultimately. It's working for me and settlements are a breeze. I mean use them like they use you. I hope you can remove your emotions from the situation and just realize the system wins when you lose hope. Keep the faith!

though i understand and appreciate your frustration, your final jab at the guilty buyers is pretty disgusting, regardless of how angry you might be.

There is a big part of what you wrote that I understand. eBay has not been very helpful with the shipping issue but quite the opposite and there are times that I feel handcuffed by eBay and not able to offer the level of customer service and the exact experience that I would like to offer my customers. The way you see eBay and it's customers reminds me of how I used to feel.
There's some great technical advice in this and other threads that other experienced sellers give that will help if you follow their advice but it was this advice that changed things for me and made me feel truly successful and happy on eBay. I think if you or anyone else is feeling this way (and I do remind myself from time to time of this advice) you need to take a look at your own outlook and change it. "If you're going to be successful and happy selling on any online platform you will need to start seeing things from your customers view and truly trusting your customers. It's a leap of faith that may not improve your bottom line if you're already offering great customer service, but's it's a leap that needs to be taken if you're going to be happy selling online."

I told them what I think.
Things have gone smoothly for me since that day.

What a childish rant. You destroy your own inventory as a punishment to others? Your frustration is understood but two wrongs don't make a right. Your final comment speaks volumes for who you are in reality. Best of luck to you....

I was feeling a bit sympathetic for you until I read your last line. Wow. You really seem to be bitter and filled with hateful, angry rage.
I hope you made a decent amount from selling so that you can seek the professional therapy you seem to so desperately need for your deep seeded anger and hatred.
Hope you can get well. Mental health in this country is unfortunately not a priority but it should be...
Additionally, what are buyers supposed to do when they don't receive what was shipped to them? Just say "oh well I will let the seller keep my money, no problem that I didn't get my item" ?? And how could a buyer make a charge back if the item showed 'delivered'. I feel like you're leaving out a lot of details here.
Sorry, but if you were looking for pity you came to the wrong place with the wrong attitude.

Suggesting therapy or mental health help is a stretch for someone just blowing off some steam. Seriously, we all do it. A lot of sellers and buyers come here to vent when they believe they are not getting the action necessary from eBay to support them with a problem buyer. It's a human thing, but to suggest this person has a mental condition isn't much better than their last line in their post. Everyone is puckered up today because of many things. My suggestion is to stop watching, reading and listening to the news. The world is overflowing with information which results in massive amounts of stress. Make a choice as I did. Just don't do it. Watch an old Bob Newhart bit where a woman comes in for a therapy session. His reply is to just stop doing it like 100 times to all of the problems she had. It really is that simple. Turn off whatever is poking you. The sooner you do that the better you will feel. And remember, in a hundred years it ain't gonna matter. Have a good day!
