Re: Payout

I don't understand, It is not the customers responsibility to mark as delivered, It is your responsibility to make sure your item was delivered, Do you use tracking, If you don't you certainly should.

@adthom-1801

Buyer doesn't mark it delivered, the carrier does that.

Since you're a new seller, just have to wait until the hold is released, which could be 30 days.

Have a great day.

Context should matter for payout holds. The eBay policy is too generic and anti-seller.

Someone selling books, for example, should not face payout holds. Especially once tracking shows delivered and other proof available that seller performed 100%.

Opposite cases should involve payout holds, absolutely.

Re: Payout

If you are a new seller, or an infrequent seller, and haven't sold for awhile, your funds can be held for up to 30 days.

Perhaps do a little more reading in the Seller Information section.

Re: Payout

Did you entered the shipping label to show proof of trcking?

Re: Payout

If you failed to enter or provide tracking this is a perfect illustration, in and of itself, of why these holds are necessary for new sellers.

Just curious @Anonymous. Why should book sellers be any different from any other seller?

There is nothing to plug in, nothing that could break a few days later, nothing that takes days to authenticate.

If it's intact and as depicted in the listing, you've received the item as expected on the spot. Release payment.

Items don't need to be plugged in to be NAD. They don't have to have fragile parts to be NAD. There doesn't need to be an item that's counterfeit to be NAD.

ANY item can be NAD and a NAD claim can be legitimate or not.

  • The seller may have neglected to mention that the item may have missing page(s). (The seller may not even have been aware that pages may be missing.)
  • The  seller may not have mentioned or may not even have noticed that someone took notes in margins or highlighted text.
  • The seller may have minimized the number of dogeared pages.
  • A used book may be in generally worse condition than described and pictured.
  • And as with EVERY other item, a buyer may lie about an item being NAD when they want to return it and the seller doesn't allow the return.

We even see dozens of posts in which items that were sold as "not working, for parts only" being returned as NAD.

If you're going to sell on ebay, understand that any item can be returned if the buyer files a claim.

And the hold allows ebay to get the refund money from the seller.

Re: Payout

Allow me to repeat:  BOOKS.

That you can verify if NAD in about 10 seconds. Generously, about 24 hours, tops.

Not changing my view that context (always) matters. But I expect diehard eBay defenders on their forum just as I do Google fans on Google forums, etc, and grass is green. Peace, dude.

It is not Ebay 'defenders' here but people who are attempting to explain to you how the site works. For example you are complaining that the buyer has not marked your package as Delivered so you cannot get your payout. In fact there is no possible way for a buyer to mark any item as Delivered. Only the carrier can do that - after which Ebay will update the tracking status here.

A Delivered scan does not automatically release your funds. If you are an occasional seller (either new or returning after an absence)  then your funds will be held for a short while until Ebay sees no claims have been filed.
