I’m new to selling on eBay, maybe this is normal or I’m doing something wrong. After the sale is done I get that the buyer pays for shipping and I know eBay has fees but when you look at your order earnings compared to what eBay actually sends to your bank it does not seem to match up.
My buyer paid $24.25 total on an item that was $16.00. Shipping was $6.10 and tax was $2.15.
After shipping was removed -6.10, sales tax was removed -2.15, and eBay’s transaction fee was removed -3.61. It says I earned $12.39.
What eBay actually sends to my bank was $8.03.
This part was a little confusing to me. Thanks for any help.

I get that the buyer pays for shipping and I know eBay has fees but
@catawba_outdoors
The money that the buyer pays for shipping is given to you. Then you purchase the label with those funds.
You are charged fees on
the item price (you get this minus fees)
the shipping the buyer paid (you get this minus fees)
the sales tax the buyer paid (you don't get this money, just pay fees on it)
there is a non-refundable listing fee of forty cents on each transaction
If you paid to promote your item, there are more fees.

Thank you, I get all of that but at the very end after they break down the fees coming out and shipping it shows my final earnings being $12.39, I did not promote any items. I’m just confused because there is no break down on how the final earnings go from $12.39 to $8.03 which is what eBay sent for payout. I which I could attach a photo but it won’t let me right now.

You had 2 other sales after that one..........look on the payments page and see if some of the fees may have been deducted since perhaps the other payments were still "pending"..........

Keep in mind that ebay doesn't send you money each time you have an order, so the payouts don't match up one to one. It only sends you your available balance which may be from a partial order or multiple orders. To see what was included go here and filter by payouts.
https://www.ebay.com/mes/transactionlist?sh=true
Find the payout and select view and it will show you which transactions were included in your payout. It should all balance out eventually over time.

Like someone else mentioned if you have say $10 in available cash and someone buys something else, the shipping, although paid by the buyer, might be taken from your "available" cash. If that's the case, the money they paid for shipping is still there and will be available once it's cleared. But it would take your $10 down to what's left after paying the shipping. They will take shipping fees from the amount the buyer paid if you have no available funds. But, if you have available funds, they generally take the shipping fees from there. It takes a while but eventually it should all make sense.

Are you sure you can ship those hats for the advertised price?
Its gonna take a large box to ship those, & that will be expensive. Shippers mainly go by box size not weight.
Unless those hats are shipped crushed & rolled into a ball.
