I sold a pair of my Jordan's pretty quick after I had it listed. Not to sure how it works when something sells but got the message that buyer has yet to make payment and still awaiting payment. After msssaging the buyer multiple times and he swore he made the payment I received a Email that looked
kinda sketchy. The Email comfirmed I sold my Jordan’s for the price I was asking for. Also, the message went on to inform me to ship the shoes and the money was already deducted from the buyer but their is a hold on it until I ship the item and enter a tracking number to confirm I sent it. Once I ship the item and leave tracking number the funds will then be released to me in my PayPal account. So I’ve sold things on EBay in the past but never received a message that headed “funds released once
shipped”..I believe the funds are deducted from the buyer and are not released to me until I ship the item, the buyer receives it than rates the transaction. It is not until than I receive the payment the sale. Please help me understand how this works and if you get this EMail regarding to ship the item. Thank you

If you dont see the funds held in your Paypal account, you havent been paid and got a fake PP invoice.

That is all LIES. No such thing as a payment that does not show until the item is shipped. You need to go to the resolution center and file an unpaid case to get your selling fees back. After the case is filed, you have to go back and click the buyer has still not paid box if they have not to get your fees back.

I wouldn't ship until I have the funds in either my PayPal or MP account. Sounds fishy to me. Maybe others can help more.

As a new seller selling hive price items, you can expect a lot of such scams. They try to trick you into sending items that were never paid for. I suggest you first build up some feedback selling low say under 25.00 items.

NO. That is a scam. Period.
Real eBay sales do not work that way. Look in your Sold items page to see if your item shows as Paid and you see a directive to ship on that page. Not before. What you are describing is a classic scam. You do not need to ship and upload a tracking number before seeing funds in your account, even if (as a new seller) there is a temporary hold on withdrawing those funds.
As the scam buyer has already sent you that fake email, it's safe to say that you are not actually going to get paid. After two full days (48 hours) from the time of sale, you can file an Unpaid Item dispute. The "buyer" gets 96 hours (four full days) from that point on to pay, even though we know at this point that that's not going to happen, and after that time has elapsed without payment, you can then close it out and get your Final Value Fees credited. (You're on the hook for FVFs even though no actual payment has been made for the sale, so you need to get out from under those.)
When relisting, sell as Fixed Price for whatever you would actually like to get for them, do not use Make Offer on the listing, and set the Immediate Payment Required option on the listing (see the full Sell Your Item form to find that) so that no one can snatch your item off the market without actually paying you for it first.

this is the kind of thing where we need to be able to report the "buyer"........but because he doesn't pay.....there is no way to do it easily........

Hi @dhbookds - As we've talked about in the past, I agree that there could be a better way to report buyers in general (especially in situations where there is not a transaction).
In this case, it sounds like the OP has a transaction with the buyer. The seller can report the buyer through the ‘report buyer’ form as well as by opening an Unpaid item case to help us take appropriate action for what has happened.

The more and more I see these posts of this scam, makes me believe that unfortunately this particular scam is quite successful. Sad.
