Hello Ebay Community and I hope Ebay Customer Service:
I want to report that starting June 01 and continuing through July 05 2018 Page Views are still "broken" showing "-" more than 85% of the time.
Could I get a reply/answer/assurance from anyone from Ebay monitoring this channel?
I saw the announcement from corporate on July 3rd that page views were fixed. And they were for most of that day. But beginning the next day and continuing today they still arent on either of my iphone mobile devices.
Thank you.

What do you use page view totals for? Or do you just like seeing numbers?
It's not what we use page view totals for... It's what eBay's bots use them for...
They a large part of what eBay uses in determining listing positions.

As a seller, I like to see the views to gauge interest in an item. It helps to determine if I want to relist, lower the price, raise the price (!) or add more items to the lot to make it more interesting! I find the view count very helpful for making these decisions! Mine seems to be working at the moment; but different every day.

Gosh, Fern. I just assumed most posters here would look what a commentor would have listed. No, I don't need hundreds of listings to enquire WHY? And where is the outrage? No one said anything about the outrage yet there are many threads asking WHY. How Come? If it is/was a tool that sellers used and it helps them, why would it suddenly go haywire?

After all these years of offering page views, you would think that making that feature work wouldn't be so difficult. Do they have a bunch of elementary school kids doing the programming? I have to wonder.

I sincerely feel I've missed something big here with the views. I would never remember from day to day whether the number changed or not. I could see if something got a big number, though, so that might get my attention. My sales are so bad I guess I'm not using this tool properly, since I truly didn't realize it was a tool.
"Outrage" was not an accurate term for me to use---my apologies. I couldn't come up with a proper one for big interest. There are so many things messed up right now, the big interest in this one seemed odd.
Another poster explained the views are used by ebay for listing placement.

Thanks for reply back. When you rely on something that has always worked, no matter what the seller uses it for, and on top of all else going on here, this would be a simple fix. As far as ebay bots using it to calculate whatever, I could care less about ebay bots or the eBay AI that also doesn't work for search.
Great news they use it for listing placement. NOT. So those of us who show high counts, then 0 counts? Just where does that now put us in search "placement." I just have relied on the views/watchers to decide if something needs tweeking or to not relist until a later date. Sure, the view count can be way off (I had a tux jacket few months ago with over 250 views?) and it didn't sell. But why break something/change something that worked where sellers were comfortable relying on it? Guess I will be written off as one of the old geezers from the good old ebay days lolol. NOT.

Unusually low views or no views are often a warning signal of a problem with the listing. Could be a number of issues, but it requires follow up.

No...it is an ongoing eBay glitch. Has been. Lots of threads about it. It panics sellers like me that our items are not being seen. Which in reality could be the case.

Sorry for the mix-up. Yes, I realize the views are glitched and imo, for it to go on this long is unexcusable.
My note was answering the question about why the # of views is important for sellers to monitor.

My boyfriend says his views are stable but he's in Canada. I wonder if that makes a difference.

I'm in the USA and my views have been stable all day.

I also use views as a gauge of interest in an item and as to whether I should make changes to the listing. Watchers on the other hand are of no value to me.

Adding my squeak to the squeaky wheel.
I'm really tired of the page view and watch count weirdness! I'm in Cali and today they are still messed up...nothing but "--" to be seen. Try reloading the page bunches of times and it's still not fixed. Delete cache, still no.
For the people asking why, for sellers like me, who are selling personal collections, it's an indicator of whether or not something is actually going to sell for a decent amount. High page view and watch counts usually translate in to $$$ for me.
So for me to have mysterious "No views but 4 watchers" and "--" every time I try to reload the page, it is totally frustrating. I still have no idea how a listing can have watchers and no page views. That situation NEVER showed up for me before, ever, until last week.
And yeah, it feels like eBay just wants to get rid of us old-timers who do things the way we understand and like.
Just please, fix the issue! Some of us still use real computers and browsers to do everything! Stop trying to force us to do everything on a stupid phone!
