PLEASE bring back NEGATIVE FEEDBACK for BUYERS!!!

Dear Ebay.... PLEASE bring back the ability to leave negative feedback for buyers!  I'm sick of people bidding just to launder money through PayPal, or who bid on a car just to decide they suddenly don't want it and never pay, or aren't valid accounts or are hacked accounts, etc.  SURE, we can (usually) get fees refunded and so on, BUT we as sellers have to waste our time fighting to get things settled, and also loose a chance to relist and hopefully resell the item, and the buyer never gets a negative feedback!

How is that fair?

No way.

There are far too many brain dead, glue sniffing sellers out there who salivate at the chance to neg a buyer who takes five hours to pay for an accepted best offer, or who can't wait to leave that retaliatory neg when they send a SNAD and expect the buyer to be satisfied with it. 

Sellers had the ability and proved that they can't be trusted with it.  All negs for buyers does is run off the good buyers. Bad buyers don't care. I don't want a bunch of hothead sellers running off good buyers.

I've always advocated doing away with the one sided system altogether, i don't believe the ability to leave buyers Negatives would help in anyway whatsoever.

But, Non paying bidders are not buyers, automatically generated Negative issued with any non payers and 2 Negatives negates any ability to bid at all would reduce this problem almost to a zero.

Any further accounts attempted to open are then also restricted, BIN only at least they would have to therefore pay.

We've all heard the ridiculous excuses, my dogs paw bid, the phone was in my back pocket etc etc. 2 strikes and out helps but there are still many sellers even today completely unaware of this.

Many bidders simply do this for fun, the time you need to wait to open the case and then a further 4 days to close it out leaves your item in Limbo and unsellable.

Personally i never do auctions but there are many that do and rely on this format.

Just to clarify, NPB are not buyers and in my opinion would deserve the generated Negative.

Nells250, if you read the listing agreement when selling vehicles through Ebay Motors, then you know that buyers have a right to back out of a sale and the Ebay Motors listing is not a binding contract. Ebay tried to run it like that in the beginning, but regardless of whatever they stated in the terms of the sale, it does NOT supersede the rights consumers have, either by federal and or state laws.  If you have vehicle sales that fall apart, then perhaps you need to take a closer look at what the underlying cause may be, such as not properly listing any imperfections the vehicle may have, not just the pros. Also, no matter how hard you try to properly describe a vehicle you have up for sale, you're always going to get a  buyer who suffers from a bad case of buyer's remorse and who will find any excuse to back out of the sale. It doesn't just happen on Ebay Motors, but car lots all across the country. Nothing you can do about it but move on.

You can already block any bidder with two or more nopays in the last year. Something on their feedback would be nearly useless for most sales on eBay.

Totally get what you are saying. I know also when it was allowed buyers and sellers would just go back and forth out of spite. That was not available when i first opened my acct anyways, always been the way it is now since i started selling on here. If i feel I have an unfair negative feedback, I politely and professionally respond to it just so future buyers know what the problem was. And you are right, in business you deal with all kinds. I have one person i have ever blocked on my blocked list and that's because I had a bad experience.
I tend to sell lots most of the time and when I do that and have 50 pcs or more and then the person bought it for one item, then took it apart to try to make something else and it didn't work out they wanted to return it all or was asking if I just give them partial refund they would be happy. I didn't block at that time. A couple months later, same person started messaging me on other lots asking for lots of additional pics like first time and I decided it was just not worth having a headache. Anyways, thats only person I blocked. Since I started selling I can count on one hand how many people I would not want to deal with again or tried to scam. But hey, it happens everywhere, every site online.

They’re exactly the same thing except one spanks grown adults for spite.

If the problem is that enough sellers don’t know then eBay could make that block automatic.

People on eBay do SO many worse things than refuse to pay. We are going to visibly mark people for a civil disagreement but not fraud? Hopefully you never returned anything to target and had a huge R permanently branded on your forehead.

Do you have a credit card?  Post-paid cell phone?  Auto loan?  Mortgage?  Ever rent a car?  Every time you ask for any kind of credit, a business rates you as their customer.  And it deeply affects how they'll do business with you because any credible business needs to manage risk.

The original feedback system gave both parties information in an environment that lacked it.

Negative feedback for buyers shouldn't come back, for the poor buyer's experience alone, but eBay is incapable of vetting buyers or protecting sellers.  That should change.

That’s a poor analogy - credit ratings, much less the detailed info behind the numbers, are not publicly posted where everyone can see and the individual is publicly shamed.

Not to mention, it’s rather a less trigger happy, spiteful system.

And let’s be serious - you’re comparing home and auto loans to the typical EBay purchase?

I agree. Buyer have complete control on ebay and they can do whatever they want. Ebay needs to make it a fair playing field for sellers.

I would rather see feedback done away with entirely.   

There are good reasons to not allow negatives for buyers, but I also think that negatives for sellers can be just as bad.

I absolutely agree with you, as a seller I definitely think ebay should be protecting sellers more that is for sure.
