Opt out of Managed Payments

For those who enrolled in managed payments, have you guys had success calling ebay and then opting out?

I tested it and it was not right for me and I have called ebay twice. Each time, they try to convince me to stay in the program. I finally had them sent in a request for them to "send to the back office" for review for opting out.

Also, I have read about managed payments affecting API. I am not sure what that means? Can someone explain? Thanks

Re: Opt out of Managed Payments

Yeah this looks like grounds for a class action lawsuit against ebay by sellers and paypal. I have customers emailing to cancel because the payment option for paypal is not available. I was forced into managed payments and have no option to opt out.

Re: Opt out of Managed Payments

heres how i think you should respond to your customers if they do reach out to you about this:

I am very sorry, and thank you very much for reaching out to me about this.

I had no clue this was the case unfortunately eBay forced many sellers to their new "managed payments" platform with no alternatives or ways to opt out. They removed the option for paypal payment from everyone that was forced into managed payments. That said until eBay decides to stop using their customers and sellers for a war with paypal I would strongly recommend purchasing though another market place instead of ebay until they get their heads straight. We also sell on etsy, and amazon as well as our own web site.

Please send me your address and Ill send you a free *** for the trouble and for calling this issue out for me.

Thanks,

Re: Opt out of Managed Payments

to update anyone interested in opting out of managed payments (and have noticed a substantial decline in sales since opting in) I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY OPTED OUT.  after doing so, sales resumed to relatively normal levels...

-go to Payments tab > Get Help With Managed Payments > scroll to bottom of page - should be options for call us or have us call you. WARNING: You will likely get a sassy rep who tries to do everything they can not to get you to opt out (like a seedy  salesman) - continue to say you want to opt out - its hurting your sales. they will **bleep** every way they can fyi...they should eventually say they will submit a report. you SHOULD get an email from ebay customer service within a week - if you dont, call the number back...hopefully this will work for anyone else screwed by managed payments...

also try emailing

customerhelp@ebay.com

will try to link payments help number:
