Funds on hold, again!

In times when eBay and PayPal fees weren't 20% of the item price, I sold a lot of items on eBay to have the 21-day limit removed. Mind you, it wasn't automatic, I had to be on the chat for 30 minutes, until they finally responded with:

Following your request to have the payment holds removed from your account , we have completed a review of your account. We would like to inform you that your request has been granted and the eBay holds have been removed.

Thank you for your time.

That was on 14th April 2015. And with my recent sale I'm hit with this unfair thing again!

To make matters worse, even adding tracking number doesn't help at all.

Looking over the help topics, there's no mention that this limit is imposed again after a period of not selling.

Is there a way how to get rid of it forever? Since eBay and PP take so much from the transaction, they ought to provide better service than that!

Ebay & PP fees aren't 20% now.  So I'm unsure of how you are calculating that.

The Live Chat.  Dang that was a while ago as the live chat has been gone a long time.  Too many things to count have changed on Ebay since that time.

Yes, it is Ebay policy on new sellers and sellers returning after a long time off from selling, to hold funds.  You aren't going to get around it this time.  It isn't an unfair policy.  It has a good reason for being there.

Read through this as it will help you to better understand.

Welcome back and good luck with your sales.

Sell at least one thing every year (or maybe every 6 months) and you'll avoid the holds returning.

I don't know if one sale is enough, I have a few selling id's that are on the shelf but I at least use the 50 free every six - nine months and sell a few things. Holds have never come back on those id's and I avoid the 0.0% feedback percentage.

The requirements are a bit more than that.

What is considered a limited selling history?

Sellers are considered to have a limited selling history until three conditions are met:

  • It's been more than 90 days since your first successful sale
  • You have more than 25 sales transactions
  • You have more than $250 in total sales

My seller dashboard says my performance rating is “Above Standard” so why do my payments show as pen...

It is possible to have an Above Standard rating and still have your payments show as pending because you have a limited selling history—90 days or less from your first sale, 25 or fewer sales transactions, or $250 or less in total sales.

A casual seller needs to make sure they have sales every quarter of the year [90 days] to avoid the holds.  And enough sales as stated above.

Sorry, all new sellers experience what you are going through.  I know you are not strictly new in the fullest sense of the words, but since you have not sold for awhile, you are considered to be such.

In three months, with 25 transactions and $250.00 in sales, your funds may no longer be held.

Congratulations and best wishes for great sales!
