Today I received two notifications on two items which I have had listed for months/years- a folk art art doll of a Black American man (not a caricature) wearing a tie, and an antique photograph of a Black American maid holding a White child. Neither item depicts any possible characteristic of racial mockery or denigration. I must say that I find it personally offensive that ebay would even suggest such a thing about them. What on God's Earth is happening? I'm 60 years old and have been an ebay seller for 19 years with a 100 percent rating. Has the world lost its mind?

It looks like they're slashing and burning the entire black Americana category. I got something taken down too. It's absolutely insane. eBay hates us, that much is clear.

Updated policy due to recent national events-
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/Offensive-Materials-Policy-Update/m-p/31015263#M1609128
The published policy leaves room for plenty of subjectivity on eBay's part about what's considered offensive so let's try to figure out what parts of it caused your listing removals.
The announcement mentions dolls specifically, and the policy says no photos that portray racial stereotyping- I think those two areas are where your listings got caught up.

So they just removed the whole entire Black Americana category? So Ebay thinks Black American history is offensive? Should I remove my Vintage Avon Black American Barbie as well?

It is absolutely absurd that eBay has the nerve to decide what else is now "offensive" when they literally are in a scandal where people were sent pig's blood.

It appears that history can be changed or at least hidden merely because it is deemed offensive by someone. I remember my Polish mother telling a joke about why some Polish people wanted to be buried face down so that people that tell dumb Polish joke can kis their posterior. Frankly, I think she thought it was humorous but I suppose there are those that would take offense.
Of course, as a Vietnam veteran I suppose I've been a bit desensitized from the treatment received when I came home. I guess it's a good thing that I didn't run off to Canada to dodge the draft so that people today still have the right to be offended. Of course, if we get to the point that we hide and deny history, successive generations may think that it never happened.

In Santa Barbara, the original (1957) Sambo's (restaurant and pancake house) - the first and the only one left - is changing it's name because people found it offensive, after 63 years.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

I'm not sure for how long. With "Gone With The Wind" being removed from HBO's Vaults and cartoon characters being disarmed who knows. Of course, I'm wondering if they're going to get around to banning video games like "Mortal Combat" anytime soon?!

Hattie McDaniel was the first black woman to win an Oscar for her role in Gone with the Wind.
When they go full PC cancel culture, they end up hurting the very people they think they're protecting.

...no Sir./Maam., only America has lost its mind as US history is about erasing and re-writing just how it happened in China, Vietnam, North Korea, and many socialist and communist countries...

...on behalf of my other side, the Vietnamese families, friends, co-workers, whom escaped the socialist and communist North Vietnam after the fall of South Vietnam on 4/30/1975, I greatly appreciate your sacrifice during the Vietnam War...it will never be forgotten...
...our Americans are too naive to embrace the socialist and communist philosophy...one day when our people realized the truth then it's too late...
...May God bless you and yours...
