I don't know how much more i can take.. I went to list some tops today,,,
started fresh,, created a new listing.
there are no predefined item specifics with drop downs..!!!!
only suggested specifics..( see pic)when i accept them,, it creates basically custom defined specifics,.,. which we all know are not findable or searchable..omg,,there is no brand drop down, no size drop down,,nothing!
Trinton@ebay who is freaking running this site>?? how can specifics and listing work flows change from day to day... omg.. it's just the height of incompetence..

how can we knowledgeable sellers get the person who makes actual decisions in the backend programming department to contact us and work specifically on these problems.. there is no way to "fix" what is going on.. every message to the programming department has the listing work flow more screwed up...
all of this OF COURSE.. affects search results and buyer satisfaction..or rather continues the exodus of viable buyers . buyers will not tolerate having to figure the "new" correct way to search for items they are looking for.. there are too many other options out there.. buyers don't want the hassel..... especially when predictable, reliable. familar search functions on other retail web sites do not have these constant problems!

Hi @lasantino, this is also something that would be directed to our sdsupport@eBay.com email address. This email goes to the team over our catalog and the information that is populated within the listing form. Getting feedback to this email address is the best way to make improvements for issues you run into.

Morning...thanks for your replies. There has got to be something glitch wrong with the Sell Similar and ebay listing tools (Quick Tool and/or Advanced also called Business Tools). I have never used either and don't use ebay tools at all. I just did a test and listed 2 items using my listing program: one in pottery and another in Clothing. Everything looks fine and is there in eBay. Using my program I don't have to even go into ebay to list...Sellers were told on another thread to contact some support email (which is I think their Catalogue people) isn't timely enough considering how many sellers are having problems and can't list. I also make sure I am not included in their "catalogue." And, yes, the Chat today at 1pm Pacific, 4pm my Eastern time. Great suggestion.

Tagging myself: didn't see the reply from the Blue at the time I wrote my reply...still worth bringing up on the Chat today. IMO. Seems this all started yesterday and still not fixed.

There are several different categories for BOOKS. Some of the categories have the "Item Specifics" section working today. But the category I planned to list into today is missing the "Item Specifics" section on the listing tool. Very frustrating as we don't have time to list one book at a time. We use the listing tool to get basic common information into the record and then one by one complete the pertinent details unique to that book.
Speaking of "item specifics." I don't know who came up with the various "item specifics" for books but obviously they don't know much about what is important to the book buyer or the intricacies of the details. It does not appear that they ever asked an actual book dealer.

Trinton@ebay.....this has nothing to do with the catalog. NONE of my items are in the catalog as we have very few NWT items.... We have pre-owned clothing or new without tag clothing. It happens when you sell similar or even try to revise a listing....the items specifics are gone! It tries to suggest certain ones but you can't input all that information. Even the eBay generated ones are gone like modification description and UPC. This is a huge problem! Try a sell similar on a women's top or dress and see what happens! We have a ton of custom specifics too that are all gone....

I am having the same problem. If the program doesn't like what i put in the box it just doesn't take my listing. I am just guessing what will make it happy because before we had the drop down menu. It is not taking my listings. Anyway to get around this **bleep**.

So true. Last I looked there is nothing for "poetry". Really?
Just tried to list a book but same issue as others have run into. To list without Item specifics or not? Hmm.

@Anonymous sent an email but aren't calls relayed to that department when we call the Customer Services Rep? Again, have them put something on the System Status chart - everything right now is Green. OR put it in the Technical section as a notification. It is effecting many categories and we have been dead in the water for going on 2 days now.
A lot of us have been trying to days to list things and spinning our wheels and then we spend time with customer service reps only to be told "it must be us - they haven't had any issues reported" or "I can't replicate that" or hold on while I replicate it, etc, etc.

I just tried it again....sell similar on items I ended last night and they worked BUT anything I end now and try to sell similar on, the IS are still gone. Maybe they are working on it??

I don't think that this is about suggesting improvements. It's about fixing something that's suddenly broken.

Pretty sure an "improvement" to something is what caused this problem to suddenly appear. That's what's wrong with ebay now, there are so many improvements on top of improvements that the system is stuffed full and can barely take any more "improvements".

This one may be the death blow for my account. I can't keep chasing my tail and getting nowhere with eBay. Sales are dropping everyday. Traffic is almost non-existent. Running sales, listing new items, .99 Auctions, Promoted listings, Managed Payments, Sending Offers, NOTHING is working. CS acknowledges that there is a "bug" and the tech team is working on a fix. I see no evidence to support that as things continue to deteriorate. My account is a complete mess and "customer service" just wants to shut you up and get you off the phone by telling you whatever they can think of at the moment. I see no end in sight. Things just continue to get worse with every "update"

It MAY be fixed....I just did sell similar on some items and the item specifics populated as normal. Hope it stays that way!!
