Just got this in messages just a bit:
Hello firesteel_surplus,
You have an outstanding amount owed for eBay fees. Because you owe eBay, you won't be able to list new items on eBay. To resolve this issue and continue selling, you need to pay the amount you owe immediately.
Please log into your eBay account to make a one-time payment and bring your account up-to-date.
Also, keep in mind that if you don't pay this outstanding amount owed, your account may be subject to account suspension.
If you've already paid your eBay fees, please disregard this message.
Thanks,
eBay
My "outstanding fees" that I'm in the red over? Just under $38. I'm usually running sales of around $1000(ish) a month or so. Really eBay?
You just need to trust me when I say I think eBay might be doing me a favor restricting my account. Might take care of some headaches and anxieties.
But just for giggles...where do I go to pay this since eBay won't let us keep money in our account just for these shortages.
First time this has happened.

Well I finally found where to give them their precious $35.77.
Going to be interesting to see if the account restriction comes off by itself.
Anyone wants to start a betting pool on how many hours I'll be on the phone with eBay CS "Help Desk" to get this fix if it doesn't fix automatically.
LOL

I don't understand how this is happening....................I assume your sales are being paid out before you print a label and you end up with a neg balance? When that happens to me, I get a notice that unless you have pending sales in 3 (?) days, we will charge your bank account.....and they did, the one time it happened.

Many, many sellers have gotten this "glitch"? email/message notification.
Were you actually restricted in some way?

You are not alone, as I am sure you may know. The boards are awash with the same issue. More than likely the billing date change over or the Y2K thing finally rearing its ugly head!! LOL

As well as the question in post #4; assuming you are in MP- doesn't ebay just take that 'negative $ amount' right out of the checking account provided for deposits? I always have a few thousand in mine (saving for taxes).

My MP account was empty on Wednesday when my Store fees came due, my payments having been transferred a few hours before.
EBay took the fees from the attached bank account.
I'm not exactly complaining, but in the Good Old Days we could keep a balance in our payments account for just this reason, and buy stuff with it too.
This is a weakness in the MP service.
Well I finally found where to give them their precious $35.77.
Would you mind sharing since this will probably come up from time to time?

I *think* it was under Payments and then Summary. I think it isn't showing a "Pay Now" link because I don't owe anything.
But I figured out what my problem is...
Where do I update my credit card information?
Evidently I have an expired card on hand and eBay's secretive operation...well evidently that was another tidbit of info of just telling me I had a expired card on file that was going to destroy National Security.
Gotta love em.

IMHO, it's the billing change-over. Connecting the dots has never been a strong point with this site and they probably missed something and generated these auto-duns.

One credit card on file was expired. But they still had my debit card and checking account on file and they had up to date info.
I guess I thought that's what those were for...back up in case a primary failed?
In any case, I got my credit card updated and I got my -$35.77 PAID IN FULL. I'm guessing the issue was the credit card getting declined somewhere in the pipeline and caused a bottleneck in my account.
I tried to post a sale and I'm still restricted though. I'm guessing I will be for awhile.
Anyone want to take bets on how long my account will be restricted and/or I'll be on the phone with eBay's CS "Help Desk?"

Yeah. I'm blocked right now from selling. I just tried to relist an item just to see if my account was active and it isn't.

No...mine is at least partly my fault. One of my credit cards on file was expired. But I still had a good debit card and checking account on file...not sure why it just didn't revert to one of them.
The more frustrating thing is that eBay could NOT tell me up front about this. No where in any message did I find anything about a credit card being declined until I started searching my account.
The thing is, I can see myself being here in two weeks still not in my account....
So frustrating.

Yep. I'm in MP. Have been for about a year and a half. Haven't really had much to complain about. Money in my checking account. Good debit card linked to it.
I had an expired credit card though that was probably the culprit.
Hard telling how bad I hosed up my account based on some of the eBay account Horror Stories I've seen in the boards.
Time will tell. They could do me a favor too...might relieve me of some headaches and anxieties...

Good thought.........the change from 1st and 15th store billing to all on the lst probably is screwing up some things.......
So, I can't remember when the change happens.......I confidently go to Announcements.....surely it's there.......NOPE
just because you've listened me for yrs gripe (censored verb) about putting information where we can find it................. you go look it up............
