I sold an item on eBay on Tuesday when eBay took the customer’s funds.
Was told the funds were available on Wednesday.
Also, the “Free Listing” Fees take up 10% of the selling price.
Now, being told the funds were transferred and the funds won’t be available for another 1-3 days.
EBay is pulling the old 5 days for checks to clear scam.
They are also not forthcoming with the actual fees when you put the item up for sale.
So, after 24 years and a 100% buyer/seller rating, it’s time to tell eBay to get out.

Is any entity, institution, or service that you "signed on with" 24 years ago operating the same way now?
Yes, eBay has changed a lot in the past couple of decades. Some of the changes I seriously dislike. Some of the changes I like very much. Most are just changes, neither here nor there, just the busy work of life.
If you feel that the changes to eBay are something you cannot, or will not, adapt to then I wish you happy trails and good fortune wherever they lead you.

Managed payments is by Aryden. If you are on daily payouts, the money is transfer the next day. It is your BANK that takes the 3 to 5 days. I have a business bank account in a bank that processes my deposit every night.
Some banks and some non business accounts take their sweet time.

Wow! If you think eBay only gets 10% and your’re upset it has been awhile since you’ve sold here!

Ebay prefers any refunds come out of your pocket not theirs, with the thirty day MBG.

If the seller waiting to see the funds in their bank account before shipping, then the buyer would be affected.

They lie and by not being explicit about the new fees and how they are acting like banks by accruing interest on funds.
LMAO, no.
Read much? Keep up with updates? Lose the eBay fees page? eBay was pretty explicit there are fee changes and when they would happen. And they don't earn interest on Seller funds. You probably missed that part, too.
"The buyer is equally bewildered at this drastic shift."
Let me guess,,,,,the buyer wanted to know why you haven't shipped and you said you're not shipping until the funds are in your account. When you get your payout is not the buyer's problem and shouldn't be a reason to hold up shipping. No wonder they're bewildered. They paid. Your handling time begins when eBay says awaiting shipment. The pay flow from Adyen (eBay's payment processor) to eBay to your bank can't be cancelled. eBay says the payment hasn't been paid if it is awaiting payment. When it's paid the status changes to awaiting shipment. That is day one of your handling time.

I was thinking that too, so I asked, but I see no response.

The buyer has the money taken from their account.
But, I do not ship until funds reach my account.
After two days, I have not seen funds.
And, the monies are in the ether somewhere...
It's in neither my or the buyer's account.
With Paypal, the monies were moved and visible at all times.
Not anymore.
I get that you guys are telling me I'm whining, and you are entitled to your opinion, but I've been using eBay for over 20 years, and if this is how they want to work, I'll have none of it.

If they wait until the funds are in their checking account, they might not have any buyers to worry about.

Since you haven't sold in awhile, your funds will be held in your MP account for awhile.
If you wait to ship until the funds reach your checking account, you'll probably never see the funds.
By the time the hold is released, your buyer would have probably filed an INR and got refunded.

Nevermind the 24 years @ 100% every step of the way...
Again, I'll find a better way for my other items.

Correct, that's not relevant under the current system, but once you start selling regularly following your (selling) absence, the holds will decrease. For example, I have no holds on buyers' funds at all; I ship as soon as I get the payment notification. The funds are released the next day, and my credit union usually has them available the day after that.
As others have said, you can buy your postage using the buyer's pending funds as soon as eBay tells you that he's paid, and eBay will see that it's shipped as soon as there is an Acceptance scan for the tracking.
You don't have to front the money or wait for the buyer's payment to reach your bank before shipping. Just set your Shipping form to draw the postage from the buyer's pending funds. You will find the setting for that at the lower left corner of the Shipping form.
The funds themselves are not "pending;" it's the transfer to your bank that's pending. eBay already has the buyer's payment, which is why you can use a portion of it to purchase the shipping on-line.

I've also been with eBay for just a few months shy of 24 years, so that's immaterial to what you perceive is your "problem". I've kept up with the changes, and everything is working extremely smoothly. It seems you have not kept up with the changes or understanding them, ACCEPTING them, ADJUSTING your business model where necessary, and ADAPTING to the changes. The successful sellers here do that: ACCEPT>ADJUST>ADAPT. We don't get our socks all tied up in a wad when we have a mental block or fingers plugging our ears regarding the changes, which some sellers immediately jump to doing.
One of your biggest mistakes was in delaying shipping your item, thereby making your buyer unhappy, until your payment is in your account... really not cool, and an invitation to receive negative feedback or worse. PLEASE UNDERSTAND: When your eBay Seller Hub shows that your buyer has paid, it is time to SHIP! Your money has ALREADY BEEN SECURED, and you are only waiting on the payment to be processed into your bank account according to eBay's procedures and the time it takes for funds to be transferred to your bank and for the bank to process them into the account.
You should have known this over the last two years or so., and kept up with this forum and eBay's policy and procedural changes. And the PayPal ship has sailed already - get over it.
Get up to date. And if you still want to jump ship, my best wishes for you and good luck!
Cheers, Duffy

It sounds like you are not familiar with Ebay at all. Free listings are just that, free, not 10%. You cannot wait for your money before you ship your item. Your money is there just on hold for 5 days.
