No feedback

Is it ok to request good feedback from buyers that you have left good feedback to. Most buyers (I assume they are quite  satisfied they keep the item I sold them) but they don't leave any feedback. So can you request it from them?

Re: No feedback

Unsolicited requests for feedback is viewed by many as begging and or an invasion of their privacy.

It's okay to do it (not against any rules), but I would advise you not do this as it can also welcome any stray negatives. Don't poke the sleeping bear.

You can certainly request that your buyers leave feedback. You may not get what you wanted, though.

No feedback = good feedback. Some things are better left alone.

Too bad we can't do that for buyers who pester for feedbacks. Lol. On a related note... do you think ebay would remove a positive feedback given to a buyer that says "Here's the feedback you asked me for."?

Re: No feedback

As a seller, it irks me when a buyer requests FB from me.  Yes,  I leave it for all buyers, but when they ask right after buying something it just sits wrong with me.  Your buyers might feel the same way.  If they leave it, good.  If they don't, good.

Re: No feedback

Like has been said, in several different ways above, No news, is Good news.

Re: No feedback

Wouldn't that FB have to be positive, so what would be the point of that remark?

"You asked me for FB and so I am giving you positive FB".

Depends how high this fb statement scored on the passive aggressive scale (e.g. negative positive) to whoever reviewed it I suppose...

The short and simple answer is NO

If you are THIRSTY for FBs. You might want to put a "thank you" note with your item saying something similar:  Thank you for your purchase........... If you have the time , feedback appreciated, but not needed.

IMO. It's a bad idea to request FB after the fact via messaging, etc.

I saw this feedback on a high volume sports card seller here, guy has hundreds of thousands of feedback, so I'm sure he didn't even notice.

Stuff like this is why I leave feedback when I ship lol

The sad part is that I’ve received those same messages from many buyers with that exact tone thru the years. Not feedback requests, but feedback demands. What’s even sadder... Do I comply? Yes 🙂

Re: No feedback

Thanks to you and all the Ebayers who replied to my question re: feedback.  I will take the consensus advice and "leave sleeping dogs lie" and not "poke the bear". I will not request feedback, "no news can be good news" Sorry for all my annoying quotes, haha, Thanks again for all your good advice.

Re: No feedback

"

Unless the seller has it set so that UPI cases are opened at a particular time, like so many days after the auction ends, eBay does NOT open a case automatically on its own.

Or is that a recent change that I've not yet read about?  "

I read that this type of change is in the works for April.   I'll look to see if I can find the original announcement.

Re: No feedback

Close to how I worded it.  This is from the Spring 2021 Seller Updates:

We’re introducing this new function to help you resolve unpaid item cases quicker and with less work.

  • We’ll proactively remind buyers to pay once they commit to purchasing an item.
  • If a buyer hasn’t paid after 5 calendar days, you can cancel the transaction.
  • You can choose to have eBay automatically relist the item when you cancel the transaction.
  • You’ll be able to set up automatic cancellations for non-payment in your “Preferences for items awaiting payment.”
  • If you cancel an order because the buyer hasn’t paid, we’ll block that buyer’s ability to leave feedback and, if they’ve already left feedback, we’ll remove it.
