If this is true... I request that the OP demand that this information be posted on eBay's home front page with the link and big letters "Postage is VERY expensive & always rises. Don't get mad at your seller"
or maybe this:
misleading, only the calculated shipping method will update automatically, sellers who provide "free shipping" and even sellers who don't but use shipping tables will need manually update rates
Correct. I was looking at that as more of a notice for the buyers to see (shipping increase. sales tax), along the lines of what bigdeals was suggesting.

Ouch if I'm reading right that looks like another 10% increase this year? Glad this is on the selling page rather than the shipping page. I am mostly here to learn how to sell. Didn't even know there was a page dedicated to shipping questions.
Another reason our threads shouldn't be moved without our consent.

Prices for First Class blew me away, then I realized I was comparing my 2019 eBay discounted rate cheat sheet to 2020 retail. Do we have a ballpark discount rate yet?

No need for "ballpark." You can see the exact new rates in this version of Notice 123 which will go into effect on January 26.

So, when you found the link for this "Selling" board, you didn't see the "Shipping & Returns" board right below it?

Apology accepted.
Cute, but that was an explanation - NOT an apology and I don't think one was necessary anyway.

With these never ending shipping fee hikes, selling online is becoming more and more pointless as profit margin continues to evaporate due to them. You can only pass along so much to buyers. Most of what I sell goes 1st Class. Buyers will be able to pay the increased fees without even knowing there was an increase.
On the calculated, they have the option, if not the ability/inclination to check postal rates.
I do not think the regular/expected rate increases will keep me from getting fries, and a shake along with my burger.
What about super sizing your order? That's when you know you've made it when you can super size.
With the largest 1st Class increase less than 20 cents I will probably be able to spring for the super size upgrade.

Whelp i wouldnt say the sky is falling but yet again the noose gets a little tighter and for those us playing by the rules it makes our lives more difficult. We are unfortunately at the mercy of these companies and unfortunately have to compete on a platform that allows places like China to sell the same items we do for pennies on the dollar AND provide free shipping (from around the world lol). Since i've been selling on here I've had my mind blown numerous times by what i see, IE: I'll sell item X for $6 knowing the cost and knowing lets say according to the shipping zones, fees blah blah USPS FCM will cost me a min of $3 to ship then i'll see a competitor in the US selling the same item for $3 and offer the same exact shipping and say to myself this guy HAS to be losing money unless he works for USPS lol. I know i went off topic there BUT my point is us folk playing by the rules will try and offset these new charges by changing our prices and in the long run just keep hurting our business since we can't compete with foreign countries and folks like i mentioned before working some kind of black magic. My only advice to all reading this is to keep building ur own brand and website as that might be the only thing to save once when u can no longer keep paying ebay fees and unexplained increase rates of these carriers.
