UPS, FedEx, and USPS announce new rate increases

tyler@ebay alan@ebay
can you move this post/thread back to Selling board where I had it?
That was the right category for this post as it's meant to inform SELLERS of coming shipping increases and for SELLERS to post other help links and advise/concerns to new shipping costs/plans etc...

@nuclearomen

I thought the consensus among sellers was that BUYERS pay for shipping. Maybe this thread is more appropriately posted the on the BUYING board to inform BUYERS of coming SHIPPING increases and for BUYERS to post other help links and advise [sic]/concerns to new SHIPPING costs/plans, etc.

After all, it's BUYERS who complain about the cost of SHIPPING and give DSR ratings on SHIPPING and even leave negative feedback on SHIPPING.

Buyers pay what sellers CHARGE for shipping.

The ACTUAL cost of that shipping is a SELLER concern.

But feel free to post th same info to the buyer's board if you think it will help any.

You do know some buyers actually believe some shipping really IS free?

Exactly, as in the buyer who purchases then complains after the fact like the thread on the auto part demanding a $60 refund with no reasoning whatsoever.

I think it an excellent idea to inform buyers on their forum, unfortunately those buyers who could really use to read this information and put shipping costs into perspective are no doubt the ones who never will, while the reasonable buyers are the ones who are educated on the matter.

If you go back and read my post, you'll discover I said "BUYERS pay for shipping." Nowhere did I say ANYTHING about free shipping. That would seem to be a straw man fallacy; i.e., arguing something I didn't even come close to saying.

Where did you get the impression I said that? Which statement of mine led you to that conclusion? Specifically, I mean.

Buyers pay for shipping no matter if it’s charged or “free” ... but it’s the sellers who have adjust prices as needed not the buyers, so yes, Selling is the right and intended category for my post reasons.

Why are you cluttering this thread with your opinion of where the OP should post this information? As was said, if you think this is more important for buyers, then feel free to post the same information on another board. Now this thread is cluttered with off-topic bickering about where this should be posted. As far as I'm concerned, the ORIGINAL poster should have a say where they want this information posted.

I added that because imho showing buyers what sellers actually PAY for shipping won't make any difference. That's all.

@aruyt75

If you read this thread again, you'll notice I didn't bring up the topic of where this thread should be posted. You may want to redirect your comments to the person who first brought it up.

Agree,  and.................  the buyers are not going to see anything posted on these boards about shipping rates anyway until they think that a seller has overcharged for "shipping & handling".
