If you are concerning yourself with the verbiage used about 'rating item' vs 'rating the seller'...just ignore it; put down the words you want to say, whether it be about
a.) the transaction
b.) the seller
c.) the item
d.) all of the above
e.) none of the above
and then click 'submit'.
The feedback still looks the EXACT same on anyone's/everyone's feedback (with the only REAL adjustment being
a.) you can write a novel instead of just a few words
b.) you can attach a picture (or not)

As a buyer it won't let me submit a FB unless I "rate the item". Whatever. FB is supposed o be about the transaction not a review of the item.
As a seller I LOATHE this new setup for leaving FB.

Its ebay forcing buyers to "amazon" products by demanding they be rated.
What it will do is discourage people from leaving good feedback not wanting to deal with this new hassle to leave the feedback. It will have no effect on buyers leaving bad feedback. So the net effect will be to hurt/lower seller fb ratings.
And then ebays algorithm will see this and start decreasing traffic to sellers listings affected by this.
Ebay found a way to tick off buyers and sellers with this one.
So once again, thanks for nothing, eBay.

Tell us what you loved about the item 🤔
"I was almost ANNIHILATED with joy when I received this toilet plunger. The dog-derp brown of the plunger itself compliments my bathroom, and the handle only gave me one splinter."

Yes, unfortunately.

I can put up with it as a buyer because I Do want to leave FB for my sellers, but as a seller I can't STAND to use it to leave FB.
For some reason, every single change they've made to FB over the last couple of years has just made it so much worse.

I used it today. Checked some stars, wrote a line of feedback like I've always done. Took me a few seconds.

It's not earthshattering but I liked having previous comments saved so I could just click on which comment I wanted to use. Also, on the old page I could click on the item there to see if the buyer had paid. Now I have to go back to "orders" and see if the item has been paid. Usually ebay tells us when and why they are changing things. I didn't see anything about changes to the feedback system.

So, as I stated-just choose the 'type' (Positive, Nuetral, Negative) and then
Write as you would NORMALLY do.
NOTHING different (you are just being confused with the words 'Rate This Item' when in reality, you are rating the item, the seller, the transaction as a whole..
NOTHING different.

As someone who typically gets books on eBay, how am I supposed to legitimately rate the "product" aka an entire book upon arrival without having read it yet? Ugh. It is so annoying. I just left this in the review box for a group of books along with 5 star ratings, "I haven't read it yet, but... hooray for eBay forcing me to leave a review of a product to review a seller! /s". 😒

See the post right above you (#12)- it is NO different except for the 'verbiage' that ebay uses.
Rating the 'item' means
The Buyer and did they ship what they showed, did they ship it on time, did they pack it so it would not get damaged...that IS the 'item', not the ACTUAL item only
