I sold an Item for $1550 a CPU threadripper sold on April 14 2025 and Item was delivered on April 18 2025. With USPS priority tracking. The item looks like it was shipped to a reshipping company but I didnt think much about it since the buyer had 77 stars and looks to have the account since 2014.
Today 6/13/2025 I received a message from ebay "
Buyer filed a payment dispute with bank"
Now I have a hold of $1550 with no reason why this was disputed.
What should I do??

I already got the payment 3 days after delivery. My balance is negative 1.5k to be exact its been nearly 2 months now since I got the payment to my bank

Actually, it's the buyer who loses the MBG when they use a 3rd party reshipper.

EDIT: (deleted previous reply)
The balance is negative because ebay holds the money whenever a dispute is opened.
Did the message you received about the chargeback say that you don't have to do anything? If so, they'll release the funds after they investigate, see that you shipped to the address on the order and had signature confirmation.

@er_762520 I had one of these a few months back. This was the message from ebay:
I was not required to upload any "proof" or respond in any fashion. I don't recall if they held my funds. The buyer filed the dispute on 3/11 but I didn't receive notification from eBay until 3/27. On 4/7 I received another note from eBay the dispute was closed in my favor.
Keeping my fingers crossed your dispute is resolved as quickly, and favorably, as mine!

With credit cards, the money isn't safe for at least 6 months or so.
As long as tracking shows it was delivered to the address given when they checked out and you got signature confirmation, you should be OK.

The messaged wanted me to respond to it. I basically typed a memssage saying this dispute is fraud and i typed the tracking number and submitted it

How would ebay know it's a 3rd party reshipper. Because I mmanually searched the address up and looked at the address and it was a reshipper company

Sounds like a good time to walk away from eBay, as they'll just try to steal from you if you sell something else.
