NO Sales - Just a ton of LOW BALL OFFERS for days. I am NOT desperate - LOL

Right after the announcement - bill passing for Stimulus Checks I got a rash of sales BUT THEN it stopped -- skidded to a stop. Now I just keep getting all these low ball offers.  Every item I have over 24.00 or so I have sent out offers of 10% or more less by using the SEND OFFERS but even with over 10 watchers on an item no one bites. They just watch and then send me emails with low ball offers.  I am willing TO SIT for awhile on my inventory until they get their Stimulus Checks and the money is burning a hole in their pockets.  I am not about to work for nothing but paying Ebay and Paypal Fees. Not ALL Ebay sellers are desperate -- and THIS Ebay seller is getting a stimulus check too.  No need to give my stuff away.

After they announced the stimulus checks, it became clear that it was going to take between 3 weeks and 5 months to get them.

I've heard many shocking statistics. Just yesterday it was reported that 1/3 of renters didn't pay their rent...and this is just a few weeks after just some states shut down. I expect that number will be around half next month, maybe more, depending on those stimulus checks and the small business PPP program, which I hear is NOT going well at all.

Really? All contrary data aside, you can't open up anything without widespread testing, which we don't and won't have. If you do, this whole thing starts all over again.

Just simply set the auto decline to the minimum dollar amount your willing to accept and you will NEVER be bothered by the ebay lowballers again.

Raise your price 20%, then start a promotion for 15% off, and turn off offers. See if that helps.

Selling and buying, it's a war for money! Hell, most of the people messaging you are playing your game. Trying to get your items for dirt cheap so they can sell them to someone else and make that cash! That's what life is all about. Gotta haggle and beat the other guy/girl at their game. This virus will really sort out who can handle this and who can't. Everyone wants a pocket full of cash. It's a battle! Hang in there 🙂

Just interested.

Have those checks started arriving?

Here in Canada the PM announced an income replacement program on March 25, and applications were opened on March 30.

Apparently there were some 800,000 applications in the first two days.

The questions were; name, address, Social Insurance Number, and "did you have any income in the past 1 4 days?"

One of my FaceBook friends got her cheque two days ago, just in time to pay her rent.

What's the US experience?

Low ball offers? I had a auction starting at $20. Got an offer for $50. Turned it down. You see where this is going? yep, $20

Re: NO Sales - Just a ton of LOW BALL OFFERS for days. I am NOT desperate - LOL

Hi, When I first started on eBay, I saw a video about low ball offers.  The guy in the video never turned down an offer.  According to him, he uses them as  sales tools.  I follow that advice and it works.  No matter the offer and no matter how much I am offended, I counter back.  My phone comes up predictive and I can write the same message in 10 seconds.   Hi, Sorry I can't take X with free shipping.  It is X to ship and eBay and pay pal get 12% as well.  The lower the offer, the higher the counter.  I have had people offer 10 dollars for a 100 dollar item, counter them back at 90 and they accept.  Amazing right, what's up with that?  I think the anonymity of the WWW makes people loose their manners and their minds and since they don't have to look you in the eye, they will do really stupid things.  Once the obvious is pointed out, they often get in line and if not, you've lost nothing.  I am not a public service.  I do this to make money.  I don't expect anyone to work for free and I am not going to work for free.  Politely point out to your potential customers the cost associated with the sale and counter them back and you will be amazed.

I usually counter but I don't get a lot of low balls on here - on my other site, which is a lot of haggling, I do. I just counter those, too.  I don't get mad at cheapskates or even annoyed - they don't pay rent in my brain so I don't give them space.

Thanks for sharing, Tulips! I don't think I ever had a cat, but our Pup makes up for a cat, a bunny, a monkey, a squirrel and a Kanga-Roo. That is 6 different creatures in one!

I don't think I will feed it rubber bands, but the Pup-corn is a different story. I actually looked it up and surprise! It is very nutritious, and healthy - as long as there is not much sodium on it.

Same happened to me. Couldn't keep up with orders for past few weeks, past two days dead. ONly super low ball offers. Some I countered and the real bad ones I just declined. Getting offers that don't even cover shipping or just cover shipping alone. Not that desperate either. Things will probably pick back up I am sure.

I heard a report today  saying  some Americans  have already received their  checks.  But the majority of people including those on social security  will be receiving  them   by or on  April 15th .. So we shall see .. Tulips

Glad to hear popcorn is healthy for dogs  not that it would make any difference if it wasn't  to our dogs  anyway . No I wouldn't feed any animal rubber bands  either . But I figured there might have been something missing in my cats system  that made her crave them so I never intervened .  Tulips
