this is the message I get from a seller lying that I sent him a used pulley, for starters he bought a belt& I only sell new ones.
Below is 1 of many messages from him threatening to come find me because I told him to send a photo of it, which he refused.
I get that response & - feedback and ebay refuses to do anything at all about it because its his opinion?!
As you can see he blatantly abuses the feedback system too only leaving negs& even the + are negative.

Did you ever report the buyer from the emails they sent. If you want Ebay to look into the abusive emails this is how to get that done. It has been suggested a few time, but you haven't told us if you took that advice or decided not to do it at all.
As for the contact methods for Customer Service, I know you are looking for a phone number to call, but you simply won't get that. Or if you do, be very careful as it could be a scam number.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

thanks for taking the time to reply with such a detailed response.
I have reported him in every way possible & reps just say they will take action but can not share what those details are...if this happened in any other environment they would be fired, banned, barred etc.
I think my feedback response was direct& to the point it says "100% FALSE, lying to get something for nothing. no pictures sent to us& refused to return the item even for a full refund. Very immature & made personal threats. Blocked & reported.
Well that should have been expected. Ebay doesn't share private account info with other members. Heck we have a hard enough time getting info on our own accounts. LOL
IDK about that. One complaint unless monumentally bad, shouldn't cause someone to lose their account. If that were to happen for sellers, there would be very few sellers on this site or any other.
There are punitive actions that can be taken that doesn't jump all the way to termination on the first offense.
We seem to be continually overlooking that the buyer's FB left for you was about a PULLEY, NOT the BELT they actually purchased from you. That to me sounds like grounds to get it removed because they are NOT talking about their transaction with you. You should really contact Ebay with this information and see if they will remove the FB.

Not good at all. Ebay will likely reprimand them for it, but that isn't enough to cause them to kick them off Ebay.

@mam98031 wrote:On FB that is not straight forward? Boy our experiences are different. I'm glad it works for you. In my experience the bot would not pick up that the buyer bought a belt and not a pulley that they are complaining about.
Yes, I noted that in my earlier post.
It's not straightforward in that you are exposing yourself to the security nightmare that is FB. But as I noted in my response, some people are ok with that. Many, including me, are not.
As I said, in my experience it is not a bot making the decision.
I'm not arguing with you. I prefer the way I presented to the seller. I have seen it be almost 100% effective, not only for myself, but for those I have reccomended it to, most of them come back & thank me b/c it was removed. You prefer a different way. That's fine. Seller can do whatever they prefer. I will NEVER reccomend anyone use FB & expose themselves to it's surreptitious data mining.

I didn't think you were "arguing" with me, just expressing your experiences and opinions. That is what we do here.
You know it is always possible they have improved the process since I last used it. It isn't like I get negatives very often over the years.

A better response might have been.
"You bought a belt not a pulley. I don't sell pulleys. All my products are new and name brands. Perhaps you have confused me with another seller? Any purchase can be returned for refund."
Adjusted of course if you do occasionally sell pulleys or if you don't carry name brands, etc.
As it is, your Response is more offputting than the buyer's slightly unhinged rant.

almost impossible to even get them to give me a phone # to call.
You really don't want the phone reps.
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

IDK what it used to be like b/c I only learned about it maybe 2 years ago. But it's less than a minute & you don't have to sign into anything else. Yeah, I haven't had to use it for awhile now, but from memory, it's 1 click & typing a sentence or two explanation.

I'm not suggesting that it isn't an easy to use option. It is very easy.

The automated tool has worked really good for me.
Is there any harm to try it first before contacting eBay because it's the simplest option?
I always thought it didn't harm your chances with a rep, if the automated removal didn't work.

With the life threatening threats this could be a winner for removal as well as writing a statement about something that the buyer never even bought.

If the buyer has a long history of leaving soft positives and negs as the majority of their feedback left then something is up with this buyer that is not good.

Yes, I know, that's why I suggested he give it a shot 🙂

The only message the OP has shared with us that the buyer sent him went like this:
"...that I also have the means to be able to find you anywhere! So be careful what you say and who you say it to!"
I put the dots in front of the first word because it appears this is a only and excerpt from the email the OP received. It appears the buyer knows to capitalize the first word of a sentence and it simply appears to be missing a few words IMHO.
To me, this does not appear to be such a HUGH infraction to cause them to lose their account by itself. Certainly if this buyer has a history of this behavior, then maybe yes. Ebay does take this stuff seriously, sometimes members don't think they do because they don't report back to them what they decided to do about the buyer. Ebay does not share private account info, so those that think Ebay should be telling them this stuff will be disappointed to find out they won't.
There are sanctions Ebay can take that isn't booting them off the site. As with sellers, there are steps. No member should be booted over one infraction unless it is so huge that they just have to go. This is not that kind of case.
Now I have not review this buyers FB posted for others as I don't know the buyer's ID. But if they have a history of FB abuse, then there is likely a history of Seller abuse. That should be reported to Ebay for their review immediately.
