Does anyone know why the notification email for a sale changes?
Is there a preference page where we can control what gets sent on the "you made the sale" email?
That's how it reads in the subject line now.
Yesterday it was "your sold item is ready to ship"
and last year in May it was simply "Your item has sold". and every time they change the subject line, they also shuffle around the information given in the body of the message
I like to print them to work on the order as I make the items I'm selling.
With this change, I can't get all the info I want on one page.
I need to have a sheet to work from as I make these things to order.
I also hate that the photo is never of the variation purchased (I already complained about this to ebay, still no change)
I could take a screen shot of the order at ebay and everything would be there including the correct photo, but god what a pain.

I actually don't pay any attention to the emails other than it will sometimes tell me that I have a sale.
I ship from my Seller Hub, in the Orders box for Awaiting shipment. Then I know they are paid for and they are a legit sale. Too easy to create scam emails.

My latest notification now says, "You made the sale...."
It also says
Date sold: | Jul 8, 2024 |
so I guess there's no rush to ship this order.

eBay writes the content - we have no control over it. I don't even look at emails - my seller hub tells me what I need to know. You can print out packing slips, etc., which may give you better information for your order creation process, anyway.

Does that sale notification email come from No Reply @ eBay.com or ebay? I assumed a recent sale was spoof because of that and the sale date in 2024.

Its coming from ebay (No Reply @ ebay.com.) And I agree with you, that it looks like spoof emails. Why ebay keeps on changing some thing that is not broken, I don't have any idea.

Thanks for reply. I just made another sale with sale date listed as Feb 2022. So I guess these sales are not spoof but real.

No, there is no way to control it & it drives me nuts too. They also are were constantly changing it for Ended items, once they changed it 4x in a 1 month period. I used to use those & their constant changes messed with my sorts, but I gave up on using them years ago, I just go to SH.

Nope just on or off. Those are your choices.

And as you can see in this thread below, they also did not bother to test it first.

Why bother to test anything? It always works just fine.

I just take each sold email and stick it in an EBay sold folder....why? IDK....
Either way, I dont look at them or use them, just move them, but the recent change irks me to no end, for no reason at all lol

they changed the email title and the email formatting for sold items - and you have no control over what that says/looks like. I save all them, + shipping receipts they send also. Don't really care what they say or look like as long as they are correct and send them.

@myhomestuff2013 yes, that is what it says now for sender instead of "ebay" - not sure why they made that change...maybe cause people were trying to reply those emails(?).
