I listed an item for sale with all appropriate details and a good set of photos and description. I even paid to have it promoted but there is still 0 views, watchers, or bids. What's happening?

You're a new seller, selling an expensive item that is often counterfeited.
Maybe no one is interested in looking at the listing yet.

Promoted listings can/will not guarantee views (or sales).

On search there are 12,000+ listings for AirPods, not a few are failed auctions for less than you're selling them for. I think you're looking at a lot of competition.

Hi Brian.
You're a new seller. You hardly have any feedback concerning sales and those Apple Ipods you're selling are all over on Ebay. Your price is very high compared to others on sale. Why would someone by from you when they can get the same thing from another seller for a better, less expensive price? Be careful. Those have been known to be counterfeited in the past and Ebay will pull that listing if they have the slightest reservation. Think about selling something that's not so risky and not sold by so many other sellers. That would be a good start.
Good luck and Happy Selling.

1 Item for Sale with a (1) by your name? Don't expect much.
Also; promoted items means that your item will show 'further up' when people are 'searching for it' so either...
a.) nobody is searching for it
b.) nobody wants your item
c.) your priced to high
d.) your feedback is too low
Just something you have to 'work through' over the weeks/months/years.
You HAVE to list more items
Check 'other' prices on this site

Too little, too pricey... eBay is a learning curve, for sure. Good luck to you.

Hello and welcome!
eBay recently adjusted how they measure views, so your expectations may need to be re-thought if you were expecting immediate results. Bots are no longer counted, only actual people who click on the listing will be considered a view.
As to why no one has expressed interest in your listing thus far could be based on multiple factors, as other posters have shared.
Did you take your competition into consideration when deciding your pricing strategy?
And why did you choose an auction format? These AirPods are readily available everywhere. Auctions work best for unique, OOAK, rare but in-demand items. Most goods are best listed as Fixed price with Immediate Payment Required.
Your listing info and terms of sale show a solid effort, so you are heading down the right road. Selecting what to sell and for how much can be a challenge. So hang in there. You have the listing skills—now time to hone your items/pricing strategies. Good luck to you!

Really surprised no one mentioned the possibility of indexing? New seller, 24 hr indexing time frame??? Can't have views on an item that isn't yet searchable???

I just gave you a view. No charge for the first one.

indexing is always a culprit, though, it doesn't always take 24hrs, in most cases it's searchable the moment ebay sends email the listing is live. However, in a highly saturated category such as the OP listed in, wouldn't matter, listing would likely show up dead last in results, if at all, that "See All results" link is certainly going to appear on item search like that. New seller, no sales history, much higher price etc... you know for fact that category is seeing PLA investments and ebay will always give those priority over PLS. So in this case, Indexing would be the least of the OP's issue.
But aside, 1 day... we don't even know if the OP set up PLS campaign correctly, what their election was on the item and the fact has campaign with 1 item isn't going to do anything... quantity is the key to PL and selling here in general.

You haven't paid to have it promoted, but you will if it sells.

Brand new seller, likely first item listed. I think it's pretty likely it's going to take 24hrs to index, or at least close to it.
Agreed otherwise. It is often searchable the moment the email comes in, if you have a history/record with eBay. Been listing & selling a while.

The listing has been removed, but the problem was that your starting price was higher than what other established sellers have the same item for buy it now.
That is the sort of product that if you list it $5 too cheap it will sell in seconds and if you list if $5 too high then it will never sell.
