It was worth my time. Even for 35 cents! They make a lot of money when people just let it go because it's ONLY 35 cents.
On principle it is worth everyone's time to call in if this happens, or other so called "glitches" that become "tomorrow's policy".

I find it a little less than coincidental that this new fee thing is popping up the day after their much less than stellar Q2 earnings report.

I just listed an item and was not forced to use the Make Offer option....maybe there's a glitch (not surprised)...or maybe it's only certain categories? Not sure what's going on....but I listed with no issues.

Hi, ersatz. But if you do that, don't you lose one of your freebies by cancelling & then relisting>
I just went into one of mine to revise, not a new list. Regular Fixed BIN, no GTC, not auction, ends 7/23. Reduced price by $1.00 as a test. It didn't show any fee in that lower left block nor did I get Best Offer note, so I hit go for it. Now, it will also be determined when I get an invoice next month, I guess.
I use 3rd party vendor to initially list, but if I have to revise I have to manually go into the listing myself and revise. Maybe using ebay tools causes this blurb?/glitch? I never use sell similar or whatever else eBay offers.

YIKES and WELP. This is so not a good look on eBay's part and hard to believe (uhmmm...not really) that after the way the first half of this year has gone eBay pulls yet another move as a precursor to more changes in telling sellers how to manage their business, customer expectations and already insanely low prices.
This is like UBER and LYFT's race to the bottom where it was eventually revealed drivers were making below the minimum wage (the old one, not the new one!) and taking on massive debt under the guise of "be your own boss". What most of these companies didn't want individuals to understand but is becoming clearer and clearer by the day to hundreds if not thousands of individuals is that you CANNOT be your own boss working under someone else. Call it the irony it is but it's simply impossible long-term.

jesus will the grifting never end here? where's the announcement? gotta go check my account right now since I've been listing today - I didn't get any pop-up notices from ebay when listing and I've revised some too. geeeez - enough ebay - stop already - your stock has already dropped 10% today alone

Yep... the more desparate they get to show profit, the more underhanded money grabs we'll see. They simply refuse to face facts and return some things to the old ways, and try to grovel for some customers. They keep running off sellers, and each seller run off is a buyer run off, less variety on site, etc.
I have a feeling that what we're seeing with the stock price today is the tip of the iceberg as far as ebay's value as well as business sustainability. There's just NO WAY they can spin this latest earnings report and revised forecast in a positive way.
Hopefully, the BOD will wake up and some heads will roll very soon.

If I understand my friends rambling this morning he uses the 50 for free listings ebay has been auto inserting BO in the listings he gets lowball offers which he refuses and has been getting charged a listing fee on the items he refused the offers on. A call to CS and he was told he had a chance to sell the item and refused and all refused offers will charged a listing fee....

It looks like another new ebay money grab to me.

Ridiculous. They have to allow at least one control. Yes I want offers, or if forced, no charge for offers. So I as a buyer can send an offer for 10 cents knowing the seller is going to decline but still be charged 35 cents. No chance of abuse from competitors with this concept.
I'm at a point where I feel I need to personally deliver the items to my buyers myself just to avoid any problems, glitches, or changes I'm not yet aware of.

desperate times call for desperate measures with all the issues ebay has on their plate once the downward spiral starts its hard to stop...
