Multiple questions about item, after winning.

I feel like I am on here quite a bit lately.  Odd bids, buyers and questions, that ultimately don't follow thru.

Today I have a person who won a shirt.  This person sends a question, saying upon closer inspection of the pictures there seems to maybe be a stain on the right side of the shirt.  I respond politely that if I noted a stain I would have mentioned it, but will double check.  I double check, no stain.  Then they say its left of the logo.  I offer to take a close up picture left of the logo.  Yes please.  Send them picture, no stain.  Now this person says, I think it was on the left side of the shirt.

How long do I do this?  What am I to do?  The winning bid is a whopping 1.29!

If you do end up cancelling I would still block the bidder just to be safe as @bonjourami stated. You don't want a slew of bidders that question something after buying it.

Not worth it.

Just restating because I think the block thing may have gotten lost in all the replies.

Re: Multiple questions about item, after winning.

Most of your listings are auctions and end with a single bid.

If you stop using auctions, and set your prices where you need them to be, most of your problems will disappear.

The lower the price the more difficult the customer.  Lose the bottom feeders by raising your prices.

I have not shipped the shirt, they buyer has not paid.

After 96 hours you can cancel the transaction and the deadbeat bottom feeder will get a Strike.

Enable your Seller Preferences/Buyer Requirements to automatically Block bidders with Strikes.

Tell him there is no stain.  But if he wishes, you will be glad to cancel the transaction for him which you can do citing "buyer requested" as the reaon.

How long do I do this?

You do it for as long as you choose to do it. No one is forcing you.

 What am I to do?

If your buyer pays, you ship the shirt. If he does not pay after the allotted time you can cancel for "Buyer did not pay". If he asks you to cancel, you cancel and say "buyer requested".

It's all quite straightforward actually.

I can definitely see why the buyers asked. It looks like a few different stains.

I told them no stains, and gave them the option of cancelling.  How do I block the buyer?

Just tell them that you took the shirt outside and did see a stain and ask if they would like to cancel the transaction.  I often tell lies to get a problematic buyer to request to cancel the sale.

Re: Multiple questions about item, after winning.

Blocking a buyer on eBay
  1. Go to the Block buyers from your listings page.
  2. Enter the buyer's username in the text box (you can add up to 5,000 usernames).
  3. Select Submit.
  4. Go to the Block buyers from your listings page.
  5. Delete the username of the member from the text box.
  6. Select Submit.

Re: Multiple questions about item, after winning.

As a clothing seller, I would NOT block a buyer when there appears to be 2 stains on the shirt!  Why would you block them?  It's not their fault.  I realize they should have asked prior to winning, but the photos clearly show what appear to be 2 stains.  That's on the seller, not the buyer.

I understand OP says there are no stains IRL, so OP may want to consider doing photos AFTER the steaming has dried.

Also, totally agree with @reallynicestamps  FP, no BO, IPR & raise your prices.  Prices that low attract bottom feeders.  However, in this case, I think the buyer is totally justified in asking about what appear to be 2 stains.   Also, as a clothing seller, wondering how OP didn't notice something so obvious in their pics?   I would have re-taken those pics as soon as I reviewed/edited them, ESPECIALLY if there really are no stains.
