A user threatened to shoot my mother because they didn't like the price on something. I already blocked and reported them. But is there anything else I can do? I'm scared they can just make a new account. I want to report him to the police, but since he didn't buy anything, I don't have enough to go off of.

Don't be frightened, it's just some loon.. Too many of them SIGH..
If they make a new account, report and block them again..
Freaking lunatic.

Did you report the message to ebay? (3 dots top right of message)

Okay, thank you. I just never got a message like that, and it was over a $10 toy that I put on sale regularly, so normally it's under $10 anyways.
Waking up only to see, "Give me a better price before I cut your testicles and shoot your mom." It was pretty scary. I hope to God he isn't in my state.

I did, but I'm not sure how long it will be before eBay does anything, if they do anything at all. I just don't want the guy showing up at my house, because I don't have a P.O. box for my return address. Maybe it's time to get one.

They won't go after you. They won't go after your mom. They're just some stinky basement dweller who gets off on harassing other people from behind his keyboard. Reporting the message is the best thing to do. Don't answer, absolutely do not engage with this person, just block.

There is a law enforcement portal on eBay that the police can use to get further information on a particular user if needed. You would start out by making a police report with your local constabulary.
That said, I don't think anyone should take that too seriously. To begin with, the knucklehead doesn't know any of your own contact info, let alone anything relating to your mother. Given the products you're selling, you're almost certainly just dealing with an underdeveloped juvenile. You have made the report to eBay, so now just leave him in your Blocked Buyer List and forget him.

Smh, what? What a stupid lame negotiating tactic. Some of these buyers seriously have to get a clue. @chapeau-noir is right, this buyer is basically scum and won't follow thru with his threat. Do not engage with them what so ever. Don't waste your time. Use that time to report the guy and try and move on. Tbh, that message would also disturb me from the get-go. But I won't let it bother me much.
Just curious, what do you normally put that toy on sale for, like $8? So this buyer is going to do all that and waste ammo for a $2 difference? Highly unlikely, what a loser/troll.

No kidding - is this person even 14 years old.

The suspect does not have to buy something from you in order for you to initiate a threatening case against him.

@stargizmos Those "keyboard warriors" don't have an ounce of courage unless they're behind a computer. Don't worry, please be assured nobody is coming to your house. It's sounds like some little jerk that doesn't even want the item because if he purchased; well now you would have HIS address wouldn't you..
Don't lose any sleep over this.. Like everyone else posted, it's just some troll. Probably a teenager with the wording he used. In my opinion he needs a good spanking!

Just curious, why threaten your mom?
What does she have to do with anything?

LOL... I wondered more about the 'testicles' reference. I mean, at least we all have moms... 🤔

Frame of reference, since he's probably a 23-year-old going on 12 who lives in his mom's basement.
