I find what I want on ebay. I have an amount figured in my mind for a purchase, that is Paypal + Checking amount equals what I can spend (yeah yeah, if the bills are paid).
I authorize pmt and it'll grab my PP balance, then take the rest out of checking. Ah... but noooooo.... in a single sentence I never even noticed before, it says its taking it from my Credit card. I'm puzzeled, what card? I look up the number -- that's my flipping checking account debit card! What happened to taking the PP balance FIRST?
And THEN I realize that the Last pmt I made for a purchase earlier was also taken from ckg, when there wasn't that much in checking!
So yeah, NSF on my checking account. I talk sweet, get it waived because I have a great bank. But now I realize that anyone who's on Managed Payments will cause my payment to them to come from my Checking account FIRST and ONLY. It won't touch my PP money!
I am wondering how many people have fallen into this trap and gotten NSF charges because they assumed that its coming from PP!? Ebay trained us for years that it comes from PP balance first, then your checking acct.
Why doesn't ebay allow a buyer to CHOOSE where the money is coming from? How many buyers have gotten NSF charges on their chkg account because of this and (rightfully) blame ebay? And how many people, LIKE ME, will just NOT buy if a seller is on managed Payments until ebay allows us to use our PP account for payment!

I love how, when someone answers without apology, the comeback is always to attack. My finances are not your business. My incoming paychecks are not your business. My Paypal balance and wanting to buy something the day before I get a paycheck is not your business. Stick to the conversation, forget the attack, you're just showing your own sillyness.

@upgradedendmills wrote:Just a personal lesson from a long life, I would have made a deposit to my account to cover the item before I considered it as a need. Or took any chance on an NSF period. Do you see any irony at all in purchasing a $42 item that forces you to move funds around and doing it on an expensive phone or computer?? You still have to wait a couple of days for delivery, so the whole "need" thing goes out the window. We all need to keep some money on our PayPal cards in case we go by a Starbucks.
Attack again. Wow, guys. I have more than one bank account. There is only one attached to paypal. I have several million in my other bank accounts just in case I need to go to starbucks and waste $8.00 on one cup of coffee instead of some nescessities I needed to buy on ebay to continue to mail my packages to my buyers. None of that is here nor there, again, stick to the conversation and quit judging as you know nothing about me or how much 'other' money I have stashed for emergencies, like oh, starbucks. Really??

Point is, folks, if you'd quit trying to analzye my finances about which you know nothing, is that Managed payments are infuriating for buyers. And yes, I will go to sellers who are NOT using it. If I can find one who can send me that starbucks coffee cause I'm so busy spending my last dime I just can't get to starbucks.
There, my problem is solved, now the rest of you can quit complaining about slow sales and you just don't understand why -- as I've just given you ONE of the reasons WHY.

Oh... and while I'm spending my last dime, my 17 children are starving but the cats are fed quite well.
Now that was funny....!

I saw the question as a concern about getting some structure and planning, not an actual bank balance. Planning would have eliminated any need for the question. My thought process doesn't allow me to need two funding sources for a $42 purchase. Last week on this board a poster was complaining that they had made a purchase and gotten overdrawn because of a few dollars "unexpected" sales tax added to the price. If your balance is that close to the margin, you can probably live without the item you covet. The same item will most likely be for sale when times are better for you.
If you are purchasing for resale, you are really messing up!! No matter how good the deal, you simply can't afford it if it takes your last few pennies. As a seller, I don't want buyers that are spending their very last dollar on my silly trinkets. Can only lead to excess returns if an emergency comes up or a similar item becomes available for a few pennies cheaper.

Sorry, didn't know that you were only trying to help sellers. No one thinks your finances are their business and I don't care at all about them. You asked a question and posters were trying to help you. Now that I know you have a few million, can I borrow a few bucks for a latte? I am bidding on something and need to keep enough in my PayPal to pay for it if I win. If you can float me a few bucks for the latte, I can bid more without dipping into my checking. Thanks in advance!!!!

I should have been more clear!!! The answer to the question is to not put yourself in the position to ever have to ask the question.

Folks just assume too much. The bank account is for business only. Etsy dumps sales $ into the checking account, ebay puts my sale $ into PP. Why is it that people must assume I'm spending my last dime when I never said that?
Come on guys, lighten up, this is just a conversation about my buyer side seeing a problem with managed payments.
On a happy note, I did find the little button on the payment page to change it to Paypal. Still don't know if it will combine PP balance and checking like it was still doing on June 2nd tho. Honestly, I haven't noticed that button in years, its always been on a default of PP first, ever get blind to something you see all the time?
So I came to give advise and a poster solved the problem for me! Now, who else besides endmilldeals wants a few of my spare millions? LOL

They changed and hid the button a few months ago. I found it by accident when I saw payments were coming out of my banking, not PP 🙂
I'll let endmilldeals have the millions, I would just buy more inventory I can't sell, Lol!
Ah, see, now I don't feel so blind, thank you!

I seem to have not explained right, or posters are doing what they constantly accuse buyers of -- NOT READING. I already Have Paypal Cash Plus.
In none of your previous posts did you state that you already had a PayPal Cash Plus account.
