Hello I need help..I posted this message before, but I guess I got Something Wrong...A few hours ago I tried to post some 70 year old Technical Manuals for the Army Airforce of World War II. When I had finished entering everything (pictures, Descriptions, and details of price, etc.), and hit enter I got a nasty message that I was Not allowed to post these items..and to "not try to post them again". When I had looked these items up before, there were many of the same manuals posted with no problems, so I checked again , and the same manuals are still offered for sale. Why is ebay giving me a hard time, is it something personal ??? I have been selling here for years, and have never had a problem. Please help, I rely on you guys !! If you know where I can place a complaint, please let me know, thanks again.

Don't look at what others are doing because they could be breaking policy and just haven't been caught yet. They are risking account suspension.
Before you list anything view eBay's policy to see if it's allowed. Military technical manuals are not allowed.

Not allowed

Exactly.
Sellers need to check out the prohibited list when in doubt.

Absolutely! And never go by other's listings. As stated previously, it doesn't mean they are Ebay legal to list. Ebay just hasn't caught up with them yet.

Whenever you get a message like that, think twice. I would not relist, it's like ignoring a court order.

There is a prohibited list of items which cannot be sold here.
Next time if not sure check it before you waste time creating a listing.

thank you for your quick response, I feel that if these things are restricted we should be stopped when we enter the title, and not after all our work is done. Most of my time on ebay is spent researching products and looking at other sales. Anyway, it still seems that 70 year old manuals for planes that do not exist anymore should be ok to sell. That's just my opinion, but you can't beat the government !!! Thanks again, I appreciate it !!
I don't think anyone here would argue with that, but unfortunately this is not the eBay way. For whatever reason I cannot imagine, eBay seems to be a huge fan of wasting users' time and causing frustration through this. How they figure that being constantly exasperated with the platform will increase productivity and revenue is beyond me, but it is what it is and has been like this in many ways for years now.

Until you hit enter Ebay has no clue you are trying to list something not approved. It's more of a common sense thing to understand that's how it works.

Absolutely! OP may want to check the prohibited items list before doing the listing as that will save time creating the listing only to be told it is prohibited.
Many check this first.

Precisely what I meant when I said "but that's not the eBay way".

It is also not the way any internet site works. You must hit enter before they know what you are doing. It's not just an Ebay thing.

It could be changed so that one must enter the title and IS first before proceeding.

Stepping away from Ebay Bizarro World for a moment, how many would think to check the prohibited items list after seeing multiple active listings of The. Exact. Same. Item.

NO, you must hit submit first.
