I absolutely have no idea why I can't utilize the easy listing tool anymore!!!
I was told I would have to open a new account to utilize it. They said it was no longer available for veteran seller accounts!! WHY????
Guess I will no longer be selling on Ebay....
Just curious if anyone knows the reason behind this change.

You could use the same tool for clothing, but vintage clothing, you may not find listings like yours.
This is the only way I know of to list faster, the type of items you sell.
I don't recommend this for Collectibles ... I tried Sell Similar and what happened was the system tried to over ride the small differences in my item to the "Similar" one ... the listing was worse than had I created it myself ... plus they placed a canned main picture up which was NOT accurate, it would have opened the door for an INAD return ... Sell Similar might work for brand new items but it is not a good tool for Collectibles.

I use it regularly with things like that. I don't seem to have the difficulties you have had. When I list mostly one off stuff, this is my listing approach.
If it is prefilling your specifics you want to change, X out the items at the top of your draft, that are prefilling you don't want prefilled.
With the picture, you can X it out as well. These are all just eBay catalog specific suggestions. You do not have to use their suggested specifics when selling similar.

Well, after the demise or turbo lister, with all my listings, I made up my own system so one listing takes about 30 seconds. And what, pray tell, makes you think any other site will faster? Some are slower.....Color?.....Use?....Other Color?........................................

The third one is slow. I like and use the first one, but sales are dead.

Another consideration. Ebay is an everything site. Many of your items will not be welcome.

All I needed to do was set up a handful of generic policies:
- Media mail under 8 ounces
- Media mail under 1 pound
- Media mail over 1 pound
- First class under 8 ounces
- First class over 8 ounces
- Priority small flat rate
- Priority medium flat rate
- Priority large flat rate
I just put fixed shipping costs on all of them. It took about 20 minutes.
I don't understand why that is better or easier than just entering the package weight and choosing the service. Why do you have two separate policies for MM for packages with the same shipping cost (i.e., 8 oz and 1 pound), and only two rates for First Class, which has 4 price ranges?

I find calculated is better for me, rather than set prices per category. However, with media mail, it's $4 for up to one pound, and I adjust the pricing for any listing over a pound.
I have several policies, but they are as narrow as I can make them. USPS USA + Int, and USA only.
Then UPS USA only.
First class, for example, is just first class ( I enter weight). Unless someone is trying to make more than the small extra we get on the Top Rated shipping discount, I don't see the need for a boat load of shipping policies. I think there are at most, 10 shipping policies I use.

changing your buisness ploicy just to change shipping is infuriating for sure..I sell in the same category all day long and became aware of the buisness policy thing about 90 days ago.I waited till all my listing had ended and went in an got rid of all the duplicates and started over..
buisness policys are needed for any change in shipping or country list for international.
I used to be able to go into a listing and just turn off international shipping with a click.that is impossible for me now.I have to choose a policy for USA only.
I truly dislike not being able to disable international shipping on a revised auction.why should I have to choose a policy when a radio button would suffice.
I can certainly identify with the OP on this one...why the need for a new policy on a simple change.
I would bet the average seller has no idea just how many policies they might actually have.all of the unused oudated changes you have made are still there under buisness policies

To accommodate international shipping.
My business policy for "media under 8 ounces" implements both the 1 pound Media rate ($2.80), plus the 8 ounce First Class International rate (around $15).
My business policy for "media under 1 pound" implements both the 1 pound Media rate ($2.80), plus the 8 ounce to 2 pounds First Class International rate (around $25).
and only two rates for First Class, which has 4 price ranges
Only 4? I count 32 different tiers based on weight and zone.
I have simplified it into two fixed shipping rates that average out the costs. I lose a little on the heavier and longer ones, and gain a little on the lighter and shorter ones. Buyers pay either $3.25 or $4.50 and I account for the rest in the item price.
And again, the 8 ounce division is so I can easily accomodate the rate tiers for First Class International.

I found that if I made the changes from the Seller Similar and then saved it to go active later then opened it to make one simple change it would RE-LOAD all the stuff I deleted to changed with the Seller Similar settings. I found the SAME thing happened when I used eBay's Catalog on the occasional newer item I try to sell.
I will create listings without the pics and save them ... then do the photo shoot for ALL the items (10-20 or more at a time) then just go and upload pics to each listing then put them all up live at the same time. The adding pics part is simple point and click ... for what I sell this is one of the most efficient approaches ...
Don't get me wrong, I understand that the Sell Similar and Catalog functions are great tools for items they apply to ... I just find they don't work well, if at all, for the bulk of what I sell.

Not sure what the new easy listing tool is. Why would a seller need to create a new account after 19 years on here (me) to utilize and start with zero feedback?
Listings can take some time, but the more you put into it with details, description, photos, measurements, maybe some back history if old / antique item, and not just stating "used" see photos will help your sales.
I will gather similar items, take photos with my 15 year old digital camera. LOL! Download to critique the photos as needed. Still better than a cell phone!
I think everyone understands what I'm saying on here. Do your work!

I just put fixed shipping costs on all of them. It took about 20 minutes.
So when postage rates go up every January, you have to edit each of those policies?
I just use Calculated Shipping, so I don't have to worry when postage rates go up.

You need to be organized.
Replying with the same answer three times is not efficient.

"Guess I am no longer going to be using Ebay. I will switch over to Mercari, Offer Up, Etsy and Poshmark."
Listing on ther sites can be just as time consuming. I find most work is hard and am thankful you get paid to do it.
