Let's Share ALTERNATIVE Programs to Replace TURBOLISTER!!

For sellers that are still using TurboLister, we are all painfully aware that at some point it will be retired and no longer available for us to use.

With the announcement of TL being retired this month on the UK site, it puts us all on notice here on the US site.

In an effort to prepare and be ready for the demise of TL so that we do not experience any down time for our businesses, I thought it would be a good idea to be a bit proactive and get some advice from experienced users of other programs.

Speaking for myself, some of the important points with TL are [in no particular order]:

1. The ability to work and create listings offline.

2. The ability to store lots of templates.

3. The ability to store 1,000's of old listings for future use.

4. The ability to work with multiple Ebay IDs

5. The ability to pull Ebay listings in and mass edit, then update the listings on Ebay.

I know there are more.  But this at least gets the conversation started.  For those of you out there using other listing programs, please share your pros and cons.  To include pricing if you know that.  This thread is intended to help sellers that are currently using TL and need to work our way onto another program BEFORE we are cut off from the program all together.

I think an important part of a new program would be the ability transfer the info we have in TL into the new program chosen to move forward with.  So if you know if this is possible, please share.

I look forward to learning more on this subject.

Thank you in advanced for your time and willingness to help.

Re: Let's Share ALTERNATIVE Programs to Replace TURBOLISTER!!

Hey, Mam. I highly recommend Auction Wizard 2000. Have used it since early January 2001. Costs $50.00 per year, not per month, and will accommodate multiple IDs. I don't even have to use a separate photo editor, it is all encompassed in this program. You can run any kind of report you can think of not just P & Ls.  Has multiple templates, email, ability to send FB from the program to buyers. It also keeps all of your buyer data including their emails, phone numbers, etc. all of it. In fact I emailed Thom Withgott to be sure his rates had not changed. They also offer a 60 day trial. I have auctions stored forever along with pix and have never lost anything.

Also has an archive capability you can always access. From Thom yesterday: "An Auction Wizard 2000 license costs $50 per year. When using it in a networked configuration, each computer requires a separate license. The number of user ID's you can use is not limited in any way." You can reach Thom at info@auctionwizard2000.com if you have more specific questions. All I know, I couldn't survive without it. (and I don't receive any remuneration from anyone for recommending this program).

@abfabvintage

That's all very good news for me, thank you so much! I did use AuctionWizard back in the day, and did like it. If the learning curve isn't too bad, that's going to be my first choice I think. It used to be $100/year, and I was Ok with that then. I decided to get through the holiday season first, and then address a 3rd party solution.

Thanks for the thread! I'm most interested in a product to help me organize and track my inventory. Despite my best efforts, I've been moving slower than anticipated in redoing my "warehouse."  As soon as that's done, I'll be ready to start listing. BRB Looking for motivation 😉

It is my hope that we can all learn a little something from this thread that helps us to better manage some of our workload.  Thank you for joining in.  Lets look forward to some great motivation for all of us.

I like what I'm hearing here.  Do you know if you can transfer the data we have in TL into Auction Wizard 2000?  I'd hate to have to lose all that data.

Re: Let's Share ALTERNATIVE Programs to Replace TURBOLISTER!!

Moo, Hey! If you used it before, well thank you! So you know how powerful a program it is. I like the idea you can stack your listings, spread them out time wise, then list. But you know how it works. I would be truly lost without it. Just today I called up items to relist as a new listing back from 2003! All of it was there as it was initially listed back then, only downside I didn't convert the pix requirements when they went to that 500 sided thingy but ebay still accepts them although they won't zoom. But that is my bad, not the database.

Tagging - thanks for everyone's input and replies. I do think this thread is more on point and will be easy to identify as it specifically states - alternative to TL - for sellers wishing for other options when the time comes that TL is no longer affiliated with Ebay.

Hi, the Auction Wizard 2000 also has an inventory and invoice database component.

Hey, Mam, thank you for this thread by the way. I just emailed Thom who is AW's guru so to speak lolol. Asked him about transferring/importing from TL to AW. Am sure it will/does. When I first installed AW all I had to do was do this import thing from ebay to AW without having to recreate the listings. The program did it for me. Will let you know once I hear back from him.

You are wonderful, thank you for doing that.  I would hate to have to lose all those historical listing I have stored in TL.  They are very handy from time to time.

Re: Let's Share ALTERNATIVE Programs to Replace TURBOLISTER!!

My only downside with the program and it isn't a biggie to me: the program communicates direct with ebay, you never have to go into any seller form to do anything. But if you want to revise the listing, you do have to go into ebay (you can access ebay seller form right from the program), revise whatever, save, etc. But remember to be sure to revise the listing in your database so they match in case you end up relisting that same item later. Hope am saying this correctly.

That is a HUGELY important thing to know.  VERY Important.  For some, that could be a huge negative for the program and for some not so much.  For me, it's a pretty big problem.

Maybe you could ask that Guru if they have any plans to correct that.  And if so, approximately when.

@mam98031   @abfabvintage

I never used TL for edits. I found using the ebay editor easier, especially with bulk editing. A single quick edit got done to the listing directly. I just trained myself to run a sync in TL everytime I opened it...just in case I edited anything. If AW has a listing sync function, that should work, right?

When you have a lot of edits to make.  TL is really nice to be able to use.

While the Bulk editor is nice and I use it with a single change.  But in TL you can do multiple changes and then process the updates onto Ebay.

For example our need to update shipping pricing due to the USPS price increases last month.  In the Bulk editor you could do Domestic shipping in one action and then you have to do it again to do international shipping.

In TL you can do both at the same time on all the listings you want to of the same type of format.  That is really handy.

Re: Let's Share ALTERNATIVE Programs to Replace TURBOLISTER!!

Thank you for starting this thread. While the other thread has good info, this thread is great as it can deal with the alternatives to TL. I am going to miss TL if/when eBay gets rid of it.

The Auction Wizard 2000 license for $50 per year sounds very reasonable which brings it to $1.00 a week. I have to believe even small time sellers like me will be able to afford that.

I read through the messages posted here but I probably missed it.  Does Auction Wizard have the capability to work offline like TL ?

Hi, I have used AW since 2001. Yes you can work offline.
