I've recently sold an item on eBay (it's my first time). An email address has been sending me information about the payment. I just want to confirm that this is a legitimate email: ebay@itempaidfor.com

Definitely a SCAM @jira_47 . Do not respond. Forward it to spoof@ebay.com
If the item sold, file an unpaid item claim after 4 days:
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/payment-policies/unpaid-item-policy?id=4271
When buyers ask for your phone or email, do not give it to them. Keep comms on eBay.
Find the eBay message where the buyer asked you to contact them off eBay and report it:

NO!
If the item had really been paid for it will be on your Orders list which you will find under My eBay (upper right of your home page)
Me eBay-> Selling-> Seller Hub-> Orders-> All Orders.
EBay uses ebay . com as it's email server.

NEVER use an email for Ebay. Always go to your selling page and do things from there.

OH NO, that is not right.
Go to your Seller Hub. Look in the Order's box and there you will see what you have sold and if it is paid for.
DO NOT ship until you are paid.
ALWAYS have ALL your communication with a buyer IN Ebay. No exceptions.

Thanks for all your help! I realized that is such a rookie mistake haha what should I do now? Should I wait for the 4 days to pass before filling an unpaid item claim?

that may be the worst attempt at an email scam I have ever seen....itempaidfor.com
??? LOL
As pointed out...DO NOT INTERACT with this 'person'
If you are required to ship, the ONLY place it will be displayed is in your Awaiting Shipment View

Yeah. I misspoke - technically it's unpaid item cancellation.
After 4 full calendar days you can cancel the transaction following the instructions in the link I posted above @jira_47 . But since you're in Canada, you may want to find that help page on the .ca site (this is the .com discussion forum, not the .ca forum).

I was thinking the exact same thing!
Couldn't have been any more 'scammy' than if it was ebay@Iamstealingfromyou.com

Thank you so much!

These may seem obvious, but don't send the scammer an invoice, otherwise you have to wait 4 days from the last invoice.
In regards to item not paid for: if you're working from the app, you'll see a tab, unpaid items or waiting for payment. When you click on that heading, Ebay lets you know when you can can cancel and re-list.
You can also use the unpaid auto assistant to an cancel item and relist, once 4 days elapse.
Here's another tip: it may be frowned on, but if you're sure this buyer won't pay and is indeed a scammer, you can actually sell similar on your pending payment item, and list it. This way your not just letting the item sit.

Sellers and buyers are allowed to share contact information if they have a current transaction together.
