Sadly, buyers are all to quick to leave negative feed back. Regardless of the sellers intent to remedy
the issue, buyers pounce. Very typical of our society today; entitled, vitriolic, and overly self indulgent with a false sense of self worth. Yet, 40 R% of my buyers do not leave any feedback. On balance that hurts as the
threshold for Top rated is easily punctured by the few. If ebay was supportive of their sellers as opposed to the almighty dollar, they could do the following:(just an exercise in rhetoric since I know nothing will be done based on historical input).
1.Require buyers to contact the seller before leaving negative feed back and attempt to resolve any issue.
Personally, when buyers contact me, I immediately work with them to resolve all issues. Yes, I understand that there are many s-bag sellers who don't care and ignore buyers. At the very least, ebay could monitor which sellers are genuine AND WHICH ARE MOST LIKE THEM, "SHOW ME THE MONEY".
2. Since buyers choose not to be bothered leaving feedback, after 60 days, ebay could automatically assign a positive feedback. It is reasonable to assume if the buyer did not have any issues after 60 days, then they are happy. It is like a subscription that automatically renews in the absence of a directive to the contrary; patterned response is the legal phrase. As previously stated, this is just an exercise in futility since we all know ebay will kick these suggestions to the curb.

In my experience only about 30% of buyers actually leave feedback, and I'm okay with that. As a buyer I won't leave feedback if I was unhappy with some aspect of the sale unless they made me fight to get my money back. The most recent negative I left was for a seller that was ripping off his buyers with the fake tracking scam. I know that he was playing numbers as he didn't scam all of his buyers just a percentage. But he still racked up 70 negatives that month for non delivery.
I generally leave feedback for buyers after delivery. But I also don't leave any feedback for bad buyers. Fortunately, I seldom get any of those types. I don't leave feedback for buyers who cancel transactions. I also wouldn't write offensive comments about people as you have done. That just makes you look bad, not the buyer and feel the negative or neutral they left you was warranted.

@lamber9347 wrote:Absolutely not on your second point!! No one has the right to leave a review for an item that I purchased except for me, myself, and I. There could be a myriad of reasons why a buyer doesn't leave any feedback and no the lack of FB doesn't equal to all is good.
There are many times I have been unhappy with a part of the transaction, but overall happy with the item I purchased. As a fellow seller it is preferable to choose not to leave any FB rather than leave a negative. In those cases I choose not to leave anything, that is my statement to the seller. So how would it be okay for the platform to then leave a green positive when I was actually not happy, but not unhappy enough to leave a negative?....
yes, you're right. I have same thinking but you write it well. Sometime buyer just see the product in its imagination and think product will be 15 out of 10. But after receive its just emotions they shown in reviews section. And they use the product too after it.

Out of curiosity, other than dubious bragging rights from the provided feedback of a non-involved 3rd party (ebay, off-shore sourced CS, programmers, whomever), what perks would be forthcoming from any additional feedback?

I am still back at wondering why someone with over 16K feedback would be posting about FB or how to get more of it.

It is advantageous for a new seller obviously and buyers seem to like getting feedback, while not so quick to leaveit, but as soh.maryl stated not much point once we hit the big numbers - so long as there are no reds I am happy LOL

Additional discounts and placement of one's offers are more favorable.

Not exactly correct. Placement of a seller's offers is impacted by by feedbacks. It also keeps the fee discounts for sellers. Back to the question posed, how to get more buyers to leave feedbacks. Any suggestions to that point?

I feel FB is useless because I don't leave negs at all. Last one was probably 8 years ago, or so. I've had a few bad experiences, but I leave no feedback in those circumstances. I know that when I put on an offer, many sellers look at "feedback left for others" before they decide to sell to me. I don't want any red donuts in there hurting my ability to buy. So I either leave positive, or nothing. Seems like a broken process, no?

It's pretty much been a "broken process" ever since eBay decided to not allow negatives to be left for buyers.

I didn't think feedback has anything to do with placements or fee discounts.
Do you give feedback to your buyers as soon as they pay? That might make more buyers reciprocate.

Automatic through ebay system. Sellers can create various feedbacks and
choose to have them left automatically when the buyer pays, which is what
I have chosen. TY

The OP seems to be under the impression that feedback is a qualifier for TRS status. Sellers have not been punished or rewarded in any way for feedback in quite some time. FB has nothing to do with TRS.

I stubbed my toe on Godaddy being a "woke company" lol - I guess because it doesn't have skanky adverts with women in bikinis anymore and a krap kulture. Oh, the humanity.

I understand where you are coming from but many questions are out there. Why does it matter it you are Top Rated? I don't think there is any value in that really. I sell and have a larger feedback number than you and the thought has never really crossed my mind. I wonder what this really about.
