Items still not showing up after 24 hrs

Hi!  Hope you're well and staying cool wherever you may be! 

I'm very familiar with eBay as I've been a seller on another account for about a year. 

I just created a second account for my handmade jewelry and on Sunday I listed my items at around 6:00 p.m. 

Within few hrs after, I could not find them anywhere in search. I'm used to things showing up right away, so I checked and saw the info that it may take 24 hrs. and figured that was probably the case since this is a new account. 

(I also searched using incognito mode on a different device).

After 45 hours of still not showing, I contacted CS. That proved to be quite unhelpful. They asked if I looked it up by the item number or by the full title "Mauve earrings. Handcrafted in California?" Um, no, because no one's going to look it up that way.

I realize that there are thousands of results for jewelry but I typed in my keyword of "mauve earrings" then applied a bunch of the filters that I have checked on my listing until it got down to about 10 to 20 results. It is not there.  Did the same with my other items.

CS rep checked for any "errors on their end" (?) and said there were none. 

They recommended I simply relist. 

So I did that yesterday and it's now been about 30 hours and still can't find anything. 

I then realized perhaps the problem could be my earrings are on cardstock backings which have my logo. But-  I see that plenty of other earrings listed have logos on their earring backings, so obviously that's not a problem.. But, just to play it safe I also tried editing the photos until there was no logo. That did not change anything either.

Any suggestions???

Am I just being too impatient and could it possibly take several days before things start showing up since my account is new? 

Is there some kind of higher up supervisor I should try to contact through CS? 

Any input would be most appreciated and thank you in advance!! 🙂

One last note before bed...

My simple filterless search using a couple words from your title, showed your listings as #1, #3, #4, #5, #6 in search results.

Your 6th listing is "handmade" and not "handcrafted", thus did not show up. So the searches and indexing works perfectly fine, and you are trying way to hard in your search. You only need a couple key words and 0 filters, that is how Ebay search and SEO is supposed to work, it's supposed to be simple, not overcomplicated. If you need lots of filters then what is the point of SEO...?

The title of my item is "mauve earrings".   Why is my listing not showing up in the results when I type that in?

(I throw some filters that apply to my item so I don't have to sift through the 513 results to find it). 

Not there.

I have always confirmed that my items have been successfully listed this way on another account for over a year. Never had this problem.

Currently I see six listings for you.

When you list for sale here, you receive a message that your listing could take as long as 24 hours to go live.  And if you revise it, it then goes to the back of the queue.

It has to do with the way search is showing........type in Mauve earrings and if you watch the category box at the top of search, it jumps from all to earrings........Yours do not show up...... If you change that category to All, yours show........    Yours are listed in handcrafted earrings category.  but that apparently is not included in the general earring category........  I've fought this for years to no avail...........it was called implicit navigation at one time which meant ebay was choosing which category to show to the exclusion of other applicable categories.

You're going to have to change the category to Fashion Jewelry to get it to show.......

Yes they have been live.  It was the words she chose to use in her search wasn't returning her listings.  A slight change in that and they showed up for her.

I never suggested "filler words", that is a complete waste of valuable space.  I don't know how the word "California" gains you anything in search returns, but if you have found it to be useful, that is what counts.

IDK about what words you are choosing to use in your search now.  I described earlier in the thread what I put into the search and your earrings showed up.  Your listings are live, it is what you might be choosing for your search words that is the issue.

Early in this thread [post 9], I described that for me Mauve Earrings was not getting your listing to show up.  But when I put in Mauve Earrings Handcrafted they did.

Waiting more time is not going to make your earrings show up when you use Mauve Earrings as your search words.  The search engine simply isn't recognizing it for whatever reason it has.

I've tried Mauve earrings handcrafted, mauve earrings drop, mauve earrings Bali, mauve earrings California  and mauve earrings bead and your listing shows up every time.

OMG!! THIS WORKED!!!!!

Not only did it work, but I am showing up as THIRD out of 500 results for the very basic search term "mauve earrings"  without putting ANY filters in. WOW! 

Well, tho I did my SEO well  apparently, my listing would still not even SHOW UP for its keyword were it not for your telling me this. I can't thank you enough!!!!

What a bizarre thing with their algorithm, sheesh.

I'm going to have to pay it forward and go out today and do good deeds for people! (I seriously will!)  Thank you for getting me out of the little "Twilight Zone" I felt stuck in haha!

I so appreciate everybody's help and input on this issue- thank you everybody for your  generous help on this and truly wish you all the very best success with your eBay businesses!!!

I'll mark this as resolved now. (and everyone can stop thinking about the word "mauve" now 😄)

Hi! We got the solution but I just wanted to reply..

With marketing, some of it is for SEO and some of it is for the viewer. I just put "California" in case there are folks who are wanting to buy USA only and I feel like just naming the state can be a bit more personal instead of just the standard "made in usa"...

No biggie and wasn't intending that to have anything to do with improving search results 🙂

So the thing about that was that that's great that it shows up for those search terms.. HOWEVER-  no one is searching using those terms according to the search engine keyword traffic tools that I use.

It's POSSIBLE that people could enter those phrases into EBAY'S search engine however, as that wouldn't be included in the data in tools such as Ubersuggest, Ahrefs etc., but rather only in Cassini.

You see I needed it to show up for the keyword that 250 people search for monthly which is simply "Mauve earrings"

In other words, there are a lot of phrases that my earrings would show up for, but that doesn't really do any good if no one is using those search terms.

And since before I did my listing, I plugged all of those types of search terms you listed here into keyword tools to check the monthly traffic, those all came up with zero monthly searches. 

I hope that makes sense?

And again it was a weird glitch in the eBay system that was causing the problem!

But I certainly appreciate knowing that it does show up for the terms you checked as well in case, like I mentioned, someone does happen to use eBay's search engine to search those terms, so thank you for doing that leg-work for me as that's also great to know!!

Oh dear.... well I'm out here on the west coast and was up till ridiculous hours last night as well, so I hear ya!

I'm a terrible night owl... at least I've learned to force myself to knock off any creative activity after 10:00 p.m. or I'm truly going to lose all control of my life lol! 😬
