Looks like another batch of sellers have now lost their ability to switch back to the classic listing tool and must use the new unified mobile app inspired listing tool.
If you are one of them - try it and then report back here and also send the feedback after every listing!
You will find that it is very cumbersome and takes 3x longer to list everything because it forces you to click 3-5x more than the classic tool did. Since they are moving forward with its release to more sellers, they must not believe that our feedback is valid and they want more users to chime in. We just need a listing tool that is optimized for a desktop and does not add 10 minutes to each listing because of hiding all the features in popup boxes and design flaws like having to click 3x to add a brand instead of 1 click.
Just try it and let us know please so we can get more movement from the design team to get us back to a workable, usable listing tool.
I just used the classic tool on my 2nd account and was amazed at how wonderful it was to use- I had nearly forgot how simple and intuitive and progressive the actual workflow was- effortless- just click once in the box and type and move on. Everything is plainly shown on one page with small dropdowns when necessary.

BTW, I haven't used an eBay listing page in years. I just bring up a closed or current listing and use "Sell similar", editing the item
If you use sell similar and edit that listing, you are using a listing tool.

Siam ; Sorry to say not one person there at the ebay corp. office have any experience in working retail and second market reselling . I still under stand why they the tech boys focused on mobile amps when large number of their members use PC's .

I meant I don't under stand why.

Thanks for the info but that does not work. I always use "sell similar" anyway but once ebay removes the 3 dots at the top right hand of the listing page- classic is gone and you can only use their new unified listing page. I am not talking about an selling pages - only the tool that creates listings. Everyone is being transitioned at some point. It just sucks when it happens to you since the tool is about 25 revisions away from being useful. Its just too mobile to be used on a desktop- that is what is wrong at its core..... then the list of problems stems from there.

I agree- they say that 50% of users do so on mobile.
BUT --1. a huge percentage only search on mobile- then complete purchase on desktop when they get home
2. 50% is still only 50%- why alienate 50% of your customer base anyway
3. The professional and full time listers that are responsible for the lion's share of new listings- USE COMPUTERS not phone to list.....its just not possible to create enough quality unique listings on a phone app- its only good for the occasional lister
4. Again- these designers and IT people are NOT using a phone app to do their job for a reason so how can they expect us to do our job with a phone app?--- any why do they want to force us that way anyway? Computers will probably never be replaced- they are just too efficient

I was just thinking- as the economy fails and sales and new listings are down- what does that do to the statistics for mobile vs computer use? I would almost think that the more serious full time listers that use computers will stick it out and use the extra time from having less shipping chores, to list more. That would be a common reaction of a small business owner- to not sit back but to engage more when times are tough- that's what builds businesses. But the occasional mobile phone listers would be easily distracted and not committed.
Just a thought to those who chose to make the listing process worse for computer users.

I will admit I am getting impatient. I have so many good items that i am just itching to list but each time that i try, the listing process now sucks the life out me. Its just wrong. Its wrong to add clicks to everything and call it an improvement. Its wrong to hide the everyday tools and features behind submenus and popup boxes to make the main page "less cluttered"- the classic was never cluttered- it was perfect- everything you needed was on the page- never had to leave the listing flow to explore options- THEY WERE ALL THERE IN PLAIN SITE
Picture loader is faster but the editing process leaves the main page again so you cannot look at one of your pictures to see apart # or product identifier and type it into I.S. or the description- you have to take a picture of your picture with a phone so you have something to reference while making up the description!

Just take a deep breath. eBay stuck me with the new listing tool since day one. This is about 1 month ago or so. I hate it for about 1 week, and my sales drop like a rock because I was not listing any thing. Now, I just suck it up, and list. At the end of the day, if I don't sale, I don't eat, or pay my bills.

@siamjane8 You *know* eBay, they're not going to change it. Seriously, it's better to just get used to it - don't think about it, just trudge along. The thing is actually worse now than the first change and I cuss at it because it's so twitchy now, but after a few days it only takes me about 30 minutes to get all of my listings done - load the photos, bang through the IS's and description and go onto the next one.
Hopefully there will be more improvements down the road, but I hate to see someone hurting themselves over this when we know eBay isn't going to do anything.

The new look is so idiotic I find myself listing more on Facebook marketplace then eBay these days. Plus I get more of traffic and pay less fees on Facebook so that's a bonus.

Question for those of you who are stuck in the new unified. If you just put in the title, photos, description, price, quantity and shipping info without adding any required or recommended specifics and hit list, will the prompt to add required and recommended pop up under the overview on the desktop? If so, when you go to add them does it return to the way we add those specifics now or does it return you to the unified tool?
My thought process is that this might be a workaround for those on desktop.

@chapeau-noir I appreciate the encouragement. Technically - I know you are right but since they stated to change it (although the patchwork has already caused glitches as you mentioned), I am just hoping its less of a traditional "do it our way or the hit the highway" ebay attitude - and more of a they just cant ignore the feedback from real sellers on this situation.... I was hoping that we were finally not considered "just noise" as the previous CEO told shareholders.
All I'm saying is- ebay is back to it's pre covid decline in usership, gmv, and stock price- this is not the time to alienate the loyal full time sellers that have stuck with it for years
Selling on ebay is my full time gig so , yes- I'll get back to listing and trudge along as you mentioned ( LOL ebay- see how actual users refer to your new tool- trudge through it, power through, hate, etc.)
Anyway- thanks again- at the end of the day I will have to list......I was just being active here so they can see without question that the drop in new listings on the platform is due to the new tool and not some other unknown reason. I think ebay is very good at misinterpreting data and that is why we have so many hair brained ideas coming out of headquarters!

After all the horror stories I've read about the new listing tool like the endless clicking and pop up windows.
I don't want to use it. I list my items with "sell similar" from existing listings I have had no problems getting classic veiw to come up each time.
I won't even touch "create a listing" for fear that my access to classic veiw through old listings will be gone. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks..well this new selling tool is a new trick that I don't wish to learn.
ETa: I miss turbo lister too 😢

It doesn' t matter. Eventually you too will be dumped into this "experience" and even sell similar will only bring up the new horrific listing tool with no going back.
You have been warned.

I have had this new tool for 2 years in beta and stuck with it for 2 months now. maybe that is why its so frustrating because the feedback was ignored for 2 years when it was supposed to be considered so that when the tool was actually released- it would be a workable design. I think the problem is that ebay does not value sellers feedback- so they do not accept it at first, it has to come in waves of massive dislike before they change anything. It would be better to actually listen on the front end and do it right the first time lol.... but that would be too logical.
Its kind of a "throw it against the wall and see what sticks" company.
Its not all doom and gloom- I must admit, since i have not really been listing for a couple months- I am enjoying more around the house and getting allot done! I figure - they know how i feel and they will get around to fixing the tool when they get to the magical # of sellers not liking it. Its all about #s and spreadsheets to ebay. Hope its soon.
