I'm pretty sure I was scammed. They told me they were selling a truck and told me the only way for me to pay for it was with ebay cards. So I sent the numbers to the ebay email that messaged me and then they asked me for another payment for shipping insurance. I'm now starting to think that I'm being scammed. Is there any way to get my money back from my first ebay cards?

Im sorry, but you fell for an old, old scam. Scammers love gift cards, because like cash, they are untraceable. They spend them quickly. The Ebay invoice was fake, Ebay does not get involved with any listings for another site, Facebook, Craigslist, etc. the sellers name and info was also completely fake.

Nope. That is why scammers ask for gift cards.

I parrot the other threads in saying you were scammed. You are the positive reinforcement that fortifies a scammer's activity. Was this vehicle'enticingly priced below market value? That is usually the worm on the hook that scammers use for bait.

This scam has been going on for over 3 years. First payment in cards, then scammer ask for insurance, then they even try a State Border transfer tax. Red flags kick in from the start but are ignored because of the price and story by a poor lady. eBay cards are like cash, so no, sry.
eBay should put a 7 day hold on cards once used so scammers can be stopped, but no...................

Do you still have your proof of purchase and the gift card numbers?
Contact eBay to report the cards lost/stolen. I doubt you'll qualify for a replacement, but hopefully you can invalidate the cards before the scammer uses them.

An unused eBay Gift Card which has been lost, stolen, or damaged will only be replaced where required by law, when you have proof of purchase and the Gift Card number.
