Did you mean:

I am so tired of this.

ITEM: Hokkaido Melon KitKat bar from Japan.

I am sorry but this item is way way too small to be 8 dollars! I did not realize how tiny it is. If you could please give me at least a partial refund i would appreciate it. There is no way this should be 8 dollars though, it is like 50 cents worth of candy. I am sorry but I feel like it was misleading.

I told her the listing is 100% accurate.

It was not $8, it was $4.  I had to pay to ship it to you.

The reason it's so expensive is because i had to fly to Japan to get it.

It's not something you can pick up at Walgreens.

So it cost me $3.  I sold it for $4.

Let me know how much of a partial refund you want.

Do i stand my ground and risk a negative feedback or give in and give a partial refund?

Has the buyer filed a SNAD complaint?

Not yet.  Just waiting for her partial refund.

I am so tired of this.

Knowing that i had to pay SOMETHING for it, how much of a partial refund would she want from a $4 sale?

Your response was fine up to the point where you failed to include:  You may return for a full refund instead of offering a partial.   I will not give partial refunds to buyers that "demand" them.  I will on occasion offer a partial to a buyer when an item sustains minor damage in shipping, but that is a rare occurance.

If the buyer sends a message that they are dissatified the standard response (in short) is: "Sorry you are unhappy with your purchase, you may return the item for a full refund".

But she had to EAT the candy in order to realize that it was only 50 cents worth. LOL

Not necessarily, she is complaining about size not taste.

Well apparently she was happy with my reply because she just left me positive feedback without getting a partial refund.

Another day, another dollar.

Add another photo to your listing with a tape measure.

I'm glad that it worked out.

You might want to add the weight to your title..in grams and ounces.

Have you ever tried sending your smaller items to delcon countries using first class international? Shipping cost to Canada with the gsp for one bar is $18.57 and $23 for 2 bars.  No need to answer, just thought that I would suggest it. slight_smile

I am so tired of this.

i cannot for the life of me think of an instance where I would exert the effort to type an email where the dollar amount was so small.

Knowing Japanese prices, it looks like a steal to me.  Yes you buy an import it costs more - if it was available for 50 cents at the local Walmart the buyer wouldnt have had to buy it on Ebay would they?

That particular item, i actualy hand carried it here from Japan.  I did some calculations on the cost of the trip.  I should be selling that candy bar for $121.85.

It's exactly what you'd pay if you bought them in a B&M store here in the US, actually.  There's an international foods store near me that carries the matcha ones and it's $7.99 for a bag if I want to buy them there instead of trekking to the Japanese market.

AND BTW - I live in Washington DC and we have many foreign grocery chains in our area and I shop them frequently (Indonesian and Taiwanese roommates).  Yes they DO have exotic items from ordinary brands (mango Oreos, Siracha Starkist Tuna, durian Popcicles, kimchi potato chips, peanut butter Cheetos) and yes THEY DO COST CONSIDERABLY MORE than what you can find at other US stores...but then again the US stores DONT HAVE THOSE ITEMS.

Now I am craving a melon KitKat - that sounds AWESOME!
