I talked about this in a earlier post but there have been some new developments.
Buyer buys 4 boxes of chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies.
A month later he opens a return saying i sent him the wrong flavor.
He says i sent him just plain macadamia nut.
I questioned the seller about how many were wrong or what exactly he received.
I asked if h could send me a picture of what he received.
Of course I get no reply.
So I accept the return.
The return shows 4 of 4 items returned.
Today I received the return.
He sent back only 1 of the 4 boxes. It's opened and half-eaten.
Besides that it is not the box i sent him. It has a Amazon sticker on it.
I messaged the buyer again.
This time he responds admitting that he did order some of these cookies from Amazon.
I assured him the box he sent me was not from me. It came from amazon.
I asked him at this point what he would like me to do.
He said it would be nice if I sent him a box of chocolate chip macadamia nut or send him his opened box back. (very odd)
How would you proceed at this point?

Oh good grief, tell that nut that the Kroger checkout lane is closed. Sending you Amazon orders..geez Ole Pete!

Tell him you'll invoice for the re-shipping of the open box and he has a he!! of a lot of nerve? 😒
Sorry - that's so blatant I can't think of anything else.

I'm just worried that the return is still open and if I don't refund, ebay will do it for me.
If i use the "refund" option, it wants me to refund the entire amount.
I contacted ebay on facebook and all they would says is "we encourage the buyer and seller to negotiate".
Not very helpful at all.

and if I don't refund, ebay will do it for me.
@inhawaii
Of course they will. You should know the drill by now. You are supposed to refund and report the buyer afterwards. Then they can tell you that you voluntarily refunded and there is nothing they can do, but they may give you back a few dollars on the shipping as a consolation prize.
You are supposed to be happy that at least you got cookies back (albeit not all and not yours) instead of some rubber bands.
You have my sympathies.

Are you seeing now why there are NUMEROUS complaints about eBay in the community? People are fed up with this site & how we are supposed to just give in to every buyer no matter what! eBay will end up refunding if you do not. The guy is just screwing you around.

I got back ONE of the FOUR boxes i sent.
And that box was opened and half-eaten and from Amazon!
If i refund, the refund will be for the entire order of 4 boxes.
It wont let me do a partial refund because there is a open return.
But i do appreciate your sympathies. 😃

Send the nasty box back to him filled with glitter. When he opens it he'll be glitter bombed and it'll be months (maybe even years) before he gets rid of all the glitter and old cookie crumbs.
Seriously, whatever you need to do NOT to have a seller unresolved defect, do it. Even if it's just refunding to get rid of it, then report the buyer. Did he enter this outrageous nonsense in the case?

Your number came up. It was just your turn to get rat-******. I know it's a helpless feeling to get caught up in a flawed system that's become such a part of e-commerce. You already know what you have to do. Sorry to hear about it.

So ironic how I give out advice all day long,
telling sellers to "eat it" and "that's the cost of doing business"
but when it happens to me, I get all upset. LOL Oh well.
Well at least i discovered a new ebay scam.
Buy 100 items.
Start a return.
Return just 1 of the items. Keep the other 99.
Get a full refund.

The buyer is having a good laugh at your expense, and stuffing their face while they are at it.
Sorry there is no easy way out for you.
Refund, and hope you don't have to deal with a negative feeback for all your troubles.

You may have to bite the bullet on this transaction. Just don’t let it time out or let eBay step in - earning a defect = rubbing salt on the wound.
Report + BBL for sure!

That should of course be edible glitter that is sent back.
