How to deal with INR case when tracking is showing "Available for Pickup"

The buyer's address is not a PO Box but their Post Office is holding it there for some reason.  Buyer has opened an INR case, I have uploaded the tracking information to the case and let buyer know to pick it up but is refusing.  What happens if they so choose decide to escalate it eventually?Annotation 2025-06-26 082411.jpg

When you say refusing,, did the buyer actually say that or not answer and you are assuming that he's refusing because he hasn't picked it up?

Could be many reasons he hasn't gotten it..........but if it sits there long enough, PO will return to you.  Ebay rules say you don't have to refund......but most do.  If he does file a claim, just enter the tracking number with the comment never picked up.........

oops, misread.........if you've entered the tracking number that should cover you...........and the case should be decided in your favor......

You should escalate before the buyer does. You want that case closed in your favor.

In a few days you'll see an option to ask eBay to step in. Click on it. Select the reason shipped with tracking. In the comments box say something like:

Item was shipped to the address on the buyer's order and confirms delivery attempt. USPS is waiting for the buyer to pick up the package, but the buyer is refusing.

You have seller protections.

If the package is eventually returned to sender you can choose to refund the buyer item cost less shipping/fees, but it's not required.

Be careful with this one.

This is a known scam where the buyer will intentionally provide either an incomplete or undeliverable address (secure entrance). Once tracking shows that it's undeliverable, the buyer will file a INR claim. Once he get's his refund, he will proceed to the post office to pick up the item.

This is what I'm worried about.  If the buyer escalates when tracking shows that it is "available for pickup" who will Ebay side with?

Available for pickup counts as a delivery attempt. As long as you shipped to the address on the order, you are covered. Follow my earlier advice.

Ebay will side with you (the seller).
